#26 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » Audio interferences in vokoscreen » 2022-07-24 11:04:29

Gday

1 - You didnt list the make and model of webcam + Mic
2 - You didnt list software used in the recording process

3 - Are you using OBS or simple screen recorder
or
Audacity (sound) with GNVIew (webcam)

_______________________________

99% of 'webcams' are software based
thus it will use the CPU grunt for the processing

THUS

Hardware XLR audio interfaces with XLR mics
will be processed QUICKER
then software video streams from the webcam
thus you will need to artifcally make a delay in the audio for the video to be synced

I gave up on webcams and now use an

*  USB HDMI capture card - 20-30 bucks from Aliexpress

*  Presonus Audiobox USB audio interface

*  Action cam with Micro HDMI out, then with an Micro HDMI to HDMI adapter ,
connected to the Capture card
which then connects to PC via USB2

-------

Update:

vokoscreenNG is sh1th0use software

1 - uses ((( github)))
https://github.com/vkohaupt/vokoscreenNG

2 - seens to use QT5 and openSSL , pulseaudio and libwayland

3 - no appimage or .deb file

Thus it sucks

Solution - Gitgud

Use OBS or Simple Screen Recorder

Gday

Im yet to find a really good solution to AMD video card settings and fans

Almost all the 'software' is farking sh1thouse

It seems always
Bloated
made with electron, dotnet, j3wscript, or ((( python)))
of course 'requiring' dbus, soyd, pulseaudio,etc

Im looking into some pyshical addition and external hardware monitoring devices
instead of 'software' on my ryzen PC with Asrock RX 580

_______

Also if anyone knows of some decent programmers I can hire to make decent software
let me know - charliebrownau @ proton mail

Id prefer to hire White or Japanese Men as the programmers

not j3ws , blacks , Indians or Chinese

I recommend using appimage if the repo stopped working
(you might need to hard delete it in the config file)

Gday Welcome new person from gentoo

BTW I also use Devuan

I came from Artix + Endeavour OS

#30 Re: News & Announcements » Linux Pro Magazine revisits Devuan » 2022-06-24 00:09:23

Good to see ACTUAL positive press/reviews

Yet I would caution ANYONE to rely or trust

*   Government
*   Corporations
*   Mainstream
*  " News " / "media"
*  Central banks

#31 Re: Installation » [SOLVED] Ansible role to migrate Debian to Devuan » 2022-06-17 22:43:57

Sounds Awesome

Thanks for your efforts

Does VPS/cohost box's need specialised drivers to work with Devuan
or would this work with most VPS providers ?

Might be a good idea to host based scripts not on ((( GITHUB )))
but something more self hosted/based/free speech supported

#32 Re: ARM Builds » Inquiriing, about router usage, » 2022-06-17 06:33:53

Gday

For an Router you could get

OpenWRT device
Linksys WRT54g

DIY Pfsense Router
DIY IPFIRE Router
DIY BSD router

I dont recommend ANYONE using a laptop or tabet
to share and route and do firewall stuff for a connection

I would love to see BSD and Devuan included in more networking, server stuff and router distros

ARM is still royality fee based and closed source

if you wanted a pro freedom device, check out RISC V

#33 Re: Devuan Derivatives » We are making progress » 2022-06-17 06:30:52

Great to see more distros willing to WALK AWAY from

* International Corporations
* Central Banking Cartels
* VC funding
* Anti Nation
* Anti Merit
* Anti Straight Males
* Soyd/Dbus/policykit
* Python + Dotnet + Javascript
* Censorship
* Pandering to International Authoritarianism/weak/emotional

Over to instead
* based distros,
* based communities
* people willing to put  experience, hard work, talent, drive and pride ins ones worth/effort/hard work

Instead of pandering to the
weak, always offended and those which pull down and subvert an community/group instead of aiding success
which are never happy until everyone is purged and they have completely taken over your thing/project/group/etc

I can see Linux spliter into 2 groups

Internationalism
Corporations
Centralisation
Censorship
Closed Source
Subverison
Wayland/pulse/dbus/policykit

and
Indie/Small/crowd/ground funded
Libre
No soyd,dbus, wayland,pulseaudio
Free Speech
Based Communties
hard work
Small business

#35 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » How reduce starting Xorg time? » 2022-06-14 03:50:34

Im amazed any system that old still works

I would replace
PSU
OS HDD
and replace thermal paste

Also check all FANS to be working

Replace Celey or i3 with an Xeon if you can source it from Aliexpress for that old socket type

Might be worth UPGRADING to an X58 or X79
instead of a system that old - Socket 478/771/775

#36 Re: Off-topic » Linux Hardening Guide » 2022-06-14 03:48:03

Step 1 - Self Host, dont use ((( GITHUB ))) or corporatoins

#37 Re: Devuan Derivatives » GNUinOS - Libre » 2022-06-12 04:41:27

Gday

Is it possible to run commands or program that converts Dev1 into Gnuinos
without a complete reinstall

is the difference between dev1 and Gnuinos just the kernal being libre
or other stuff needed to change ?

#38 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Can we run .Appimage out of the box ? » 2022-06-12 04:38:13

Gday
99% of appimages work with Dev1 from my experience

SMplayer appimage does NOT work thou

Appimages that do work
- LibreWolf - browser
- Delta chat - messager
- leafpad - text editor
- Libre office - Office Suite
- Ungoogled chromium - browser
- Shortcut - video editor

#40 Re: Installation » Would it be possible please to add 'CoreCtrl' to the repo ? » 2022-06-06 22:08:20

Thanks for the deb link
It failed to install

It seems this is just too bloated with QT and various extra crap

#41 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » "extremely serious problems" with Gnome 42 » 2022-06-06 08:09:13

Found the problem
* Gnome
* Freedesktop
* Soyd/Dbus/policykit

Would it be possible please to add

CoreCtrl
https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl

Into the repo

I followed the build info on gitlab , yet it failed

Is it possible to remove all the bad stuff,
replace whats needed and
get it going with Dev1 ?

It doesnt have a deb or portable runable install
or appimage

Thanks in advance

#44 Re: Other Issues » Alsa Default issues - Audiobox USB + mobo Onboard + AMD HDMI » 2022-06-04 06:56:48

I found these programs work with ALSA only

*   LibreWolf - Web browser
*   SMPLAYER - Video player
*   Shortcut - Video editor
*   Mumble - VOIP gaming mic chat software

*   OpenRA - Game (non steam)
*   ATS/ETS - Game (steam)

#45 Re: Other Issues » Alsa Default issues - Audiobox USB + mobo Onboard + AMD HDMI » 2022-06-04 04:47:34

Gday
Thanks for the response

Ive disabled onboard audio in the BIOS

Ive used that tip to remove HDMI audio

It now has no option but to default to Audiobox USB

I ended up installing {{{ PULSEAUDIO}}

I'm doing some benchmarks and tests

and ill look into removing pulse again

{{{ THEY }}} don't make it easy to remove the subversion corporation creep bloat from Linux

All the best
have a great weekend all

#46 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » What games do you play on Devuan?? » 2022-06-03 22:55:39

Gday

Ill confirm that OpenRA and the mods work with Dev1

OpenRA_CombinedArms-0.72-x86_64.AppImage works on Dev1 with Windows scrubs
you might need to port forward to host a game

Also limiting it to 75fps helps and turning off the background menu animations
It does not require steam , works on LAN , works on appimage on Linux

#47 Re: Off-topic » Attention! MESA No more OpenGL Drivers Support for i915 » 2022-06-03 22:39:10

Gday

How much 'fixing' does an old driver really need besides removing
DRM, bad language support (Javascript/python/dotnet/etc), closed source crap

Also why cant users download a Linux driver as a file
eg   Hardware_model.driver
and install it from GUI/CLI without everything throw into the kernel including the kitchen sink

Why cant we have a server someplace to store drivers that have been extracted from mainline kernel
that people may need and can access at their own choice

#48 Re: Off-topic » [SOLVED] New Github repo: Protect Children From Violence » 2022-06-03 07:05:44

Gday

If you want to protect
*   Disabled/Retarded
*   Mentally ill
*   Old
*   Females
*   Chillins
*   Communities

Then why are you using {{{ GITHUB }}}

I recommend avoiding International Corporations
that dont resprect

*   Freedom of Speech
*   Truth
*   Right to Repair

and have a known shady past and ties to untrustworthy groups/people/organisations

Having a dedicated
*   Website
*   Email
*   Mailing list
*   and self hosted wiki/git
Would be recommended

Also

Is it your job to protect
*   Chillins
*   Wamans
*   Community
*   Others

or is it the states

or is it
*   The Community
*   The Family
*   The Parents
*   Our selfs

---

Can you have Responsibilities with NO AUTHORITY

---

Governments typically use force, lies and cohesion to pass 'laws' which remove freedoms, rights and abilities
while they are often the ones who are
*   Ill-moral
*   Corrupt
*   Violent
*   Blackmailed
*   Evil
*   Wrong
*   bought/paid for/puppets

---

Whats your solution to keeping people "SAFE"
*  Censorship
*  Removing 'bad' infomration'
*  Removing the ablity for self defense
*  Removing men from the family
*  Telling men they are wrong and bigots
*  Breaking up homes, family and community

Also how are you going to enforce this new 'safey'
*  at the end of a GUN in your hands or
*   the STATE using a gun via armed order enforcers ?

Also what happens when
kids or women/mothers lie about wrong doing

Are you and others FINALLY willing to hold kids and women accountable for false claims
and stuffing over men and fathers lives ?

*  3rd party cookies disabled

*  LibreWolf instead of Default Firefox
*  Ungoogled Chromium instead of Brave/Default Chrome

* Librewolf appimage works on Dev1
