@oui . . . Our next release is Daedalus not Deadalus. I have corrected it in both your posts.

I might be misunderstanding something in your comments but want to clarify that Devuan is 99% pure Debian pulling directly from Debian repos with the exception of blacklisted packages. Devuan only forks a few hundered packages. The magic of putting everything together is done with Amprolla.

As to mixing releases . . . yes that is a no-no.

No . . . bad idea. The Devuan bug tracker is for bugs in packages that Devuan provides. I know you know this so why muddy the waters . . . ;D

I wonder how many attendees would incur travel/accommodation costs for a  one day event . . .

So the first questions might be  "Who is our target audience?" and "What do we want to accomplish?" besides kumbaya. Would it be a "speaker/audience" or "hands on to learn how to do this for Devuan" focus or a bit of both.

There are many ways it could be structured depending on what users prefer so please let us know what would entice YOU to come to a Devuan Conference.
