For the first paper to which I linked the data in question was the children's height, weight and arm circumference. Any claims of misinterpretation in respect of such data are clearly ridiculous.

Perhaps actually read the paper and offer substantive criticisms of the methods instead?

HoaS . . . I have been mulling this over and then the lights went on . . .

WRT children's height, weight and arm circumference . . . The baseline assumptions made in any study guarantee bias in the results.  Where did the data of "normal" height, weight and arm circumference etc. come from?  From kids who were fed the SAD diet which leads to obesity, diabetes etc?  Or data from a culture that eats in a different way like Asian countries?

And no I haven't read the paper . . .  big_smile

There is no assumption of "normal" height, weight or arm circumference in the paper. The study looks at the change in measurements over time as referenced against the standard growth curves. Of particular interest is the observation of catch-up growth after the children were taken off the strict macrobiotic diet and placed on a more balanced regimen.

And... you lost me...

Masks are good for blocking covid-19, don't get me wrong...

But until there is an organic way to block covid-19, which I really think will take a long time, especially because of *cough big *cough pharma *cough plus *cough their * cough dumb *cough patents *cough

Putting emphasis on how idiotic patents are in general, especially for stuff that humans need to stay alive, etc...

Anything found in nature, used to save lives, treat a aliment or ingested, or used on a person, should NEVER ever be under any restrictions of patents.

It's just plain stupid.

But all that being said, until this happens, we are stuck with Moderna or some other vaccine... which btw, if you can, avoid Pfizer's.

Moderna seems to be the one so far that has the least problems... especially with certain versions of covid-19.

Although, I try to avoid gmos whenever possible and crappy ingredients in general...

Sadly, its not always possible if you want to remain healthy.

Unless you are extremely careful and in some ways, blessed not to catch it ever.

So... its extremely difficult.

Haven't gotten it yet myself, but I prefer to air on caution despite the problems with GMO crap.

Very Important side note btw:

I hope you don't regret not getting vaccinated, too many people have died due to this virus.

Which btw, will never disappear, thanks to the freedom ___----- people

Btw, for the antivaxxers if any exist here:

Your freedom ends where mine starts, aka, if I don't want your virus, it is my right!

Meaning, mask up or get the vaccine or both and don't be a self indulgent jackass...

I swear, people these days, have lost their sense of sanity and think their freedom means being able to force their bs ideals on everyone else as well as restricting their dissenters/enemies.

Madness... pure madness.

Btw, this is not all directed at you Golinux, just up until the freedom ___----- people.

The biggest disease on the planet is not covid. It's centralised social media, it's data collection and it's use.  Many have been sold a system where convenience comes with the price of free thought.  Each click separates us more and more because profit has no conscience, they don't care on which side of a debate you're so long as you click.  CSM needs a cure fast because it poisons the whole of society.  Life choices are not so binary and way more subtle.  Removing this poison allows all to move towards a more common ground.

From one to satan to another  :-)

I recall going on anti GMO demos  20 years a go, ripping up plants from the test fields. Generally folk created such a stink that GMO are quite mistrusted here in the UK and the market opportunities less. Cheese is the one place I see things labelled as GMO. As for organics for the last 20 years I'm fortunate enough to have access to a one acre organic garden similar orchard and 12 acres of woodland. My diet has a very high percentage of organic veg and is GMO free.

I'm familiar with older varieties of wheat - spelt etc. Oats and rice I can stomach both are gluten free. I used to be the main "bread maker" and loved experimenting.  We used to buy organic dried goods in bulk.  25KG bags. But since my illness we've had to reduced the volume.

I tend to use potatoes as my main form of carbohydrate. We have one of the best sources of seed potatoes in all of Scotland just down the road and usually grow enough to not have to buy any all year. Pink fir apple is a gem of a potato.  https://www.rhsplants.co.uk/plants/_/po … 000006319/

Hahaha! Good answers! smile

The sissy-little cloth masks offer little to no "protection", other than making others "feel" safe around the people wearing them.

I've always been healthy. My wife and son had Corona, were at home for 10 days, and I never caught it. No, they didn't wear masks or stay confined in a single room during their "isolation"...nor did I. yikes However, I never caught it from them.

However, my job required for me to get the vaccine(s).

My eyesight (which was already bad) immediately got worse after getting vaccinated....plus another unmentionable side-effect. yikes tongue

By the way, the vaccines don't protect one from contracting the virus; they will only supposedly help lessen the effects of the virus once contracted.

My best to you golinux! smile

At LQ there was a moratorium on covid topics - and quite rightly so.  I'm wise enough to keep my opinions on it to myself...

But any covid thread quickly deteriorates into social media style puerile squabbles, both sides waving supposed "facts" around, neither side actually having a clue.  Not worth all the trouble.

The biggest disease on the planet is not covid. It's centralised social media, it's data collection and it's use . . .

Actually the disease of human hubris and stupidity is the cause of both those problems.

I recall going on anti GMO demos  20 years a go, ripping up plants from the test fields . . .

Good for you! I never went the route of direct action but instead, that of words.  My site which collected documentation and news stories was #1 in google rankings for almost 10 years. Scotland is holding the GMO line but the rest of UK not so much. The administrative battle with word-twisting continues at the regulatory level.  In that game, the bad guys always get their way  eventually and I no longer have the stomach for it.

We used to buy organic dried goods in bulk.  25KG bags. But since my illness we've had to reduced the volume.

I still buy bulk but also may have to readjust because I just can't eat that much at my ago.

I tend to use potatoes as my main form of carbohydrate. We have one of the best sources of seed potatoes in all of Scotland just down the road and usually grow enough to not have to buy any all year. Pink fir apple is a gem of a potato.

Yeah . . . I do a lot of potatoes too but almost impossible to find decent ones here. Lucky you to have Pink Fir Apple! /me high-fives the Scots!

Have I lost people close to me from Covid? Yes.

Typhoid Mary also refused to accept what the doctors said (with hindsight, that she was an asymptomatic carrier of Typhoid) and thus killed most of her employers (she was employed as a cook, and Typhoid is water-borne).

I simply wanted to point out that you could also be an asymptomatic carrier, this time of Covid-19, so that you could quietly do the decent thing & go get yourself tested so that (if true) you do not infect & kill hundreds of other innocent parties. Or, deploy your raging ego as a scimitar to destroy those unvaccinated around you. Such a difficult choice.
