it crashes when ...
If you launch the program from a terminal, do you get some message on it?
Anyone who is asking for citations is failing to use their own brain and this cannot be helped. (I'm out of this thread, nothing more left to say. Who hasn't grasped it yet never will.)
It is very likely that you misunderstood me. But you used very rude wording which prevents further digging into a very technical subject.
I tried to extract the folder with Colloroid to the path usr/shame/theme/ but I get an error saying that I do not have enough rights to extract to this directory
You have to do it as the user named "root".

And you was looking over my shoulder.
And the earth is flat.
Citation needed.
Is there a way to ssh via the tether connection?
Have you tried?
AFAIK this particular printer is not supported by HPLIP:
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imag … ices/index
But looking for info I came across this:

I would give it a go.
Could we see the output of xrandr?
I use Partimage: https://www.partimage.org/
If you have acess to other computer, you can download the file and install it with dpkg. Or, in your computer, using a live system booting it off an USB drive.
Unfortunately, nobody writes HTML in the editor these days.
I'm pretty sure that a few people in this very forum still do. And I'm one of those ![]()
I don't use Arial on my systems, but install it and their siblings on the systems I install for other people. I find free fonts good enough to replace Arial and so. It is a bit strage that the OP doesn't have a good replacement alias list, though.
What is your system?
root@nanoX:/home/skaul/Downloads# echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/games
You can try to become root from your user with the command su -. Don't miss the dash!
in the computer classroom that I manage for my students
I've been there. I used Debian too. I'm retired, but if I had to do it again, my choice will be Devuan.
Just for the record: I had no glitches at all in my classroom, and ParallelSSH was a good friend of mine.
no relation/dependency between those 2.
Just guessing: may be one of them have a dependency needed by the other but not stated?
Extra storage can always come in external USB drives - what other expansion were you thinking about(?).
I find suitable in my use case hot swappable SATA drive bays. Sure that USB 3.0 is fast enough to backups, but I prefere a real SATA conexion.
As an English student and sci-fi fan, I'm reading again 1984, but this time in English, previous one I read it in Spanish.
wifi doesn't work anymore and I have no ethernet port.
I have an USB to ethernet adapter at hand, just in case.
It looks great. Thank you for your work.
The only thing I can think of is that it could have to do with the swap partition which is also used by Debian Bullseye.
It is well known that since systemd appeared sharing swap partitions between distros in the same box is trickier that it used to be. But I don't know how can be related the swap issue with your DE problem. I see two options: 1) everything works, let's move on; 2) let's dig deeper triying to find the root of the problem. It is now up to you ![]()
The only thing possible was to move to a console via CTRL-ALT-Fx.
It is not a bad thing
(It is best to use humour to clear the air, IMHO).
We can start to seek (posible) errors on the logs. First of all, could you post the output of dmesg run as root?
BTW: welcome ![]()
When trying to play a movie on a TV from the laptop. ... I had no sound through the HDMI port so no sound out of the TV.
It can be because of the media player is bypassing the general ALSA settings. I'm not an expert on this, but I know that with VLC you can choose any output for sound, on the fly. Worth trying it.
I used to use an old 4 port modem/routrer as a switch.
I think that this is a really good piece of advice. I'm using right now an old router as an WiFi access point. But it the router is too old, maybe the switch could only cope with 100 Mbps. Modern routers can get up to 1Gbps. Anyone interested should check this out.
Probably with the same infamous Telefonica ADSL routers. 8^|
