Because systemd is malware.....

#208 Re: Off-topic » Is systemd still bad in 2023? » 2023-07-31 11:13:34

This malware, called "systemd" added new feature:
A new "soft-reboot" mechanism has been added to the service manager. A "soft reboot" is similar to a regular reboot, except that it affects userspace only: the service manager shuts down any running   services and other units, then optionally switches into a new root  file system (mounted to /run/nextroot/).

This is fixed in Devuan Chimaera....

VTWM (vitual tabbed window manager), is one of many TWM descendants. It implements a Virtual Desktop (VD), meaning that what is currently on screen is just
a portion of a larger workspace. What portion of the virtual desktop that is displayed and whatever windows might be visible within it, are simple point-and-click operations within a scaled representation of the workspace. My configuration of VTWM is practically a full experience as far as menus - layouts - icons - themes - sounds - all configurable within the window manager. You don't have to mess around with gtk themes to make title bars, windows, menus, icons or buttons
match your setup.

Thanks for the use of 'neofetch' - works nicely on my Chimaera system, yet I never knew it existed:

Hello. You can check little and nice program, called

pfetch-rs

It is MUCH MORE faster than Neofetch. Just download a binary and run it.

Oh yes, i found the lack of sudo weird, that's why i mentioned it. I thought that it would come with netinst, but after the installation i got complaints about that command. Didn't find /etc/sudoers either. So maybe the netinst disk was scratched or the stick was faulty or something completely different.
Maybe i'll try installing D again into that Fujitsu. But now it is not a good time for that.

I don't really understand what the problem is? It's not difficult to log in as the user "root", install package sudo ((if this package was not installed), and type command (as root)

adduser foo sudo

where "foo" is your user name. Logout and log in with your user name. And sudo will be activated.
