@all: probably best to stop pandering to this person, I suspect they are trolling us.
@ HoaS the irrepressible cynic . . . I believe that the explanation is much simpler . . .
I am an old person. A very old person. Because I am an old person I took note that early on dcolburn mentioned he was also of a certain age. IIRC, I beat him by some years. When you are such an age . . . if the earth is still around by then . . . you will come to understand the challenges . . .
This forum does not have a spell checker. Just right click to add "Devuan" to you system's dictionary . . .
@deepforest . . . you might want to read the descriptions of the available Devuan isos on our website.
Every few years I revisit this gem from 1982 that had such a huge impact on my life. Just images and music (Philip Glass) . . .
Done! That's better!
As soon as I fully wake up, this thread is gonna have major surgery and time out for Evenson. You never know what toxic alien life-forms will drop by for a surprise visit . . . LOL!
@golinux: which browser are you using? The codeberg site works fine for me with Firefox v108.0.2.
102.6.0esr (64-bit)
SNS strikes again . . . This perpetual arms race is exhausting . . .
@JWM-Kit . . . This discussion piqued my interest so I went to your website and at the top of the page found this:
JavaScript error: TypeError: window.customElements is undefined (https://design.codeberg.org/components/codeberg-components.js @ 2:145333). Open browser console to see more details.
JavaScript error: TypeError: window.customElements is undefined (https://design.codeberg.org/components/codeberg-components.js @ 2:145333). Open browser console to see more details.
JavaScript error: SyntaxError: expected expression, got keyword 'import' (https://codeberg.org/assets/stlview.js @ 11:8). Open browser console to see more details.
Oops! Have no idea whether that is under your control but should probably be fixed . . . : )
Are you subscribed to any threads on this forum? Maybe that's notification of a new post?
I think it would also be nice to see things like JWM themes in the repository, and custom Devuan wallpapers, icons, etc. Or archives of older Devuan artwork that is not in the current release.
FYI . . . all the previous Devuan artwork is archived on our git as raw files and all the Clearlooks-Phoenix-* debs are still available in the Chimaera repos and likely Daedalus too!
Off-topic FYI . . .
Your new sig https://classwar.uk/ piqued my interest. Was surprised to get this . . .
This Connection is Untrusted . . . yada, yada

Yup . . . sounds like a plan to me. ![]()
Hammer?
Sorry couldn't resist . . .
You WILL behave for the machine!!
CONGRATS . . . and you figured it out while rrq was ZZZZzzzzz!! ![]()
This would make a lovely addition to Devuan, I think. Maybe talk to the powers that be on the packaging side to have this added? If you're willing to maintain it?
Yours is not the first such request. There are many attractive and useful user-contributed "extras" but they are unlikely to ever be added to devuan itself. Why? Our mission is to provide Debian without systemd . . . full stop. ![]()
@lhp . . . Welcome to devuan! Please do share your wisdom . . . ![]()
Hey . . . thanks for doing that! I might just add it to the daedalus theme thread . . .
Yes, I was surprised not to find a 1920x1054 wallpaper option
But seriously, 1080p is probably the most common resolution for laptops so it would be nice to see wallpapers of that size.
Yeah . . . I wasn't thinking when I responded because the 1080p is making its debut in Daedalus (thanks to Lars Nooden). I never did one because I have never had a laptop (or other mobile device) to test. You are still on the chimaera theme because the daedalus/sapphire theme has not yet been integrated into desktop-base. But never fear! You can find pieces of the entire theme HERE.
Maybe you'll want to give it a spin?
It even adjusts the desktop resolution automatically to fit the window. Very civilised.
Sadly it did not find find the wallpaper option that would best fits that resolution . . .
I discovered that the cert was expired last night when I went to check some admin stuff. Have notified the folks at dyne but with the holidays who knows when it might get fixed. In the meantime no mail will be coming through on DNG. Patience . . .

AFAIK, Devuan's infrastructure runs on nginx. ![]()
Debian has it's idiosyncrasies and on top of that Devuan has it's own to counter Debian's. It is always a good idea to read the release notes before installing or configuring.
Are we ready for a group hug? (Slightly premature) New Year's greetings to everyone!

The AUR has an old version of the darkpurpy theme. I would update it and add the other versions but I don't generally bother with packages for themes. Just unpack them into ~/.local/share/themes/ and profit.
Problem is that putting it in userspace breaks the theming in synaptic and gparted etc. and sometimes I even run thunar as root . . . GASP . . .
Anyway I left a note on the AUR package page with the new source URL a while ago so people can easily update it themselves.
WOW! . . . thanks HoaS. ![]()
