is there an appropriate way for me have back-and-forth "troubling shooting session" with kapqa?
Go for it.
Possibly you together want to work out a more direct and private chat channel, e.g., using direct messaging on IRC libera.chat, or email or something. But continuing this thread is ok too.

Perhaps posting updates to this forum might be most useful/appropriate when you and kapqa have something ready for testing or if you get stuck and need more eyes on the problem. And as ralph.ronnquist suggested . . . you can communicate one on one on IRC. It is a very efficient way to collaborate.

I am from a bygone era of IT antiquity, when we wore a suit and tie to work and had lab coats.
The desire of my soul is to be helpful, yet it no longer has the ability to relevantly do so.
And every interaction is an indelible record on the Internet.
Gone are my opportunities to enjoy cordial, collegial, ephemeral discussions at a desk, in a conference room, or over lunch - face to face.
And also to offer "an extra set of eyes" on a problem, and to be a "sounding board" where the solution suddenly occurs to the one describing the problem, because he had someone to listen to him "talk it out."
I didn't find the particulars I was seeking. But, I did receive what I needed. And I thank you.
This shall be my last Topic, but this ol' codger may still occasionally post.

WOW! I didn't see that coming . . .
Sorry that this forum was unable to provide an experience that could fulfill your needs and expectations.
Wishing you all the best. We'll be here if you change your mind . . .

That would be "retirement"...
Until next time...

Never degrade yourself nor underestimate the impact you have. For example your posts/ energy got me reading alot more about Linux over last few days than I ever have.
All the best

I personally have "removed the media" (yeah, more than once), prior to rebooting.
This results in a FAILED installation, which must be repeated
If this is the screen to which you refer...
... then it is indeed safe to remove the media at this point, it's already been unmounted.
Note: do not manually reboot at this point, click the "continue" button and the installer will issue the reboot.

It couldn't be clearer.
The common mistake is to leave installation media connected / in the drive and reboot back into the installer again. If someone finds this confusing, then they probably shouldn't be installing an OS - but adversely if you got that far, then you must be doing ok...

@SS
Good morning,
Your point is kindly made and well-received.

If you will permit, a bit of dry British wit:
div.blockpost:has(a[href$="id=5884"]){display:none}

But that wouldn't be kindly doing the right thing now would it?

Actually, it would.
I've seen you be a benevolent erudite (astute and insightful), and a crass harasser (presuming and stating bad motives of others).
You are skilled and proficient at both. And you're sharp witted.
So in kindness, xyz/pdq; because your character is showing.
And actually, I prefer div.blockpost:has(a[href$="id=5884"]){font-size:5pt}
because when you're helpful, you're really helpful. And I don't want to miss it.
Otherwise, I could do without.
And it would be a kindness to you, if I popped in on your posts (when you're being crass), and pointed it out. And then also apologize to others on your behalf (because you're in a crass mood, 'cause typically you're helpful and astute).
And others could kindly do you that favor also.

Pointing out when I'm being crass will keep you very busy.
You'll have less time for composing long winded, elaborate posts about fixing stuff that doesn't need fixing.

KindlyDoRight, you may want to look into preseeding if you want to customize your installation choices across many installs / VMs.

Thank you, rbit. I do want to look into it.
And also I was highly intrigued with the conversation of SS and greenjeans, where "Refracta-Snapshot" was mentioned. Wow!
https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=65725#p65725
Naive Question:
Preseeding provides for programmatic pre-configuration, and Refracta-Snapshot captures all custom hand-tweaking refinements. It appears to me that I could actually use Refracta-Snapshot to create an ideal, fully vetted, "install package" that would provide the same benefit as preseeding, but far greater.
Am I seeing that correctly?

Yes and no. Obviously refracta-snapshot works well to replicate a system software setup from one platform to another when the platforms are more or less equal, whilst pre-seeding may be the better choice for replicating the intention of a setup across divergent platforms.
