Re: touché

As the person who originally created the "green" thread, I had no idea who had closed it and why. I was guessing it was closed either due to inactivity or due to some off-the-rails replies that were deleted before I even saw them.

The theming process is documented at https://git.devuan.org/devuan/documenta … t/graphics

And the feedback I received in the thread on specific shades was very helpful. But life is busy, so it will probably be over a month before I have any more carefully-considered shades of green to suggest to anybody.

In addition to your agenda, you seem to have an overactive imagination to support that agenda (whatever it is).

No posts in that thread were deleted. Full stop.

Re: touché

The "agenda" was that you suggested in the weekly Jitsi call that I work on theming and then sent me the following follow-up email:

Timothy . . .

Thanks for coming to the meet on your vacation time!

Sending this now but not expecting a discussion about it till after your
vacation.

You can see all the previous themes here:
https://git.devuan.org/devuan/documenta … t/graphics

Note that Excalibur did not have a custom theme because no one stepped
up to do it. I created a color palette and named it "Deathmetal" for
obvious reasons. Colors are that of a Medieval sword (I looked at a lot
of them) with a hint of gangrene and the Matrix:
https://git.devuan.org/devuan/documenta … deathmetal

And these are all the tasks required to integrate the theme for a Devuan
release:
https://git.devuan.org/devuan/documenta … t/graphics

No hard feelings if it doesn't interest yours.

Cheers!

Since I didn't know
a) What exact shades of green you had in mind
b) Whether those colours would be to the entire community's taste or just your
I started a thread here to get feedback on my very, very preliminary work.

I got great feedback from you and others and would have reused the thread in a month or two when I had anything else constructive to add if it had not been closed.

Re: touché

I am happy to hear that some of the feedback was useful.

Also consider this . . . Do not mourn the closure of that preliminary exploration! Behemoth threads running over a long period of time quickly get bogged down. Breaking up the progress of a project into smaller bits makes it easier to find stuff and also to do side-by-side comparisons.
