1. The dev1galaxy.org forum welcomes all those who come in peace to support the Devuan project!

2. Responsible behavior based on a foundation of mutual respect is expected from visitors to this forum.

3. If chaos erupts from forgetting the above, we will lock/ban our way to a more harmonious and productive environment.

4. We accept everyone's contributions, we don't care if you're liberal or conservative, black or white, straight or gay, or anything in between! In fact, we won't bring it up or ask (nor should you).

5. Remember, this is a meeting place for professional admins as well as a rainbow of users who all share a love of Linux. So please play nice.

Some under 18 are more adult than many over 18. IOW, maturity is not a number and hopefully those who come here will attempt to understand that.

@golinux despite by failings and rants sometimes, I am smart enough to agree with you there.

There are many examples even outside of politics, but I will be vague otherwise it becomes a rant to you.

Btw, didn't see this new code of conduct whenever you made it. I apologize.

Edit: I seem to have not noticed this happened in 2016. I wish I had looked, must have happened when I wasn't looking.

Well said zapper! This document has been around for a very long time. I self-hosted this forum for about 2 years before it replaced the original Discourse which was not really suited for Devuan users. According to the above posts, 2016-12-03 17:43:38 was the last time it was edited but then I can't remember if I made any minor 'silent' edits.

The edit version should suggest that adult like behavior is expected, even if you aren't an adult.

@golinux yeah, kind of bizzaro right? Although I was much more unstable during the trump years lol. I also... didn't know I had a massive ego problem then either. If I don't know a problem, then I can't address it. I kept putting bandages on my problems when in reality sadly, I needed to just have the root (pride) uprooted entirely. Not that it won't try to grow again. Its an endless problem... well mostly anyhow. It gets easier to uproot each next time I think though

I am embarrassed how long it took me to see this problem though lol.

I don't object to the suggestion in #18, but maybe it could be re-ordered to place the clarification next to where it applies:

Visitors are expected to exhibit adult behaviour, regardless of age, based on a foundation of mutual respect.

Or, if removing the adult/age terms, perhaps:

Visitors are expected to behave with maturity, and interact from a foundation of mutual respect.

I like boughtonp's 2nd one better. For some reason "adult" reads sour in my eyes. Perhaps it's because of terms such as "adult films".

Not wishing to intrude on anyone's parade:

Visitors are expected to interact in a civilized and respectful manner, regardless of age, gender or any other difference of opinion, religion and/or heritage.
In case of uncertainty or doubt on one's conduct, (new) visitors of all ages are encouraged to seek guidance and/or assistance of experienced members of this community, including but not limited to moderators and frequent contributors.

But responsible adult might be better than just adult?

Because responsibility implies mature behaviour and not all people are mature.

Golinux would agree with this a billion fold, I am sure as he already said something on this forum.
