Systemd maintainer for Debian quits

Apparently the Systemd maintainer for Debian has quit, see anounce.
he basically said that he has had enough.

Apparently the straw that broke the camels back was an issue where systemd changes the ethernet port names from a user defined name to a systemd defined name without informing the user here is the actual thread in which Biebl vents his frustration at Poettering It is fascinating reading, so are the links from that thread.

Poopering is an unmitigated idiot, good to know someone has come to their senses! ...and now let the systemd demise begin! tongue

Re: Systemd maintainer for Debian quits

This is a perfect example of why I avoid everything of Poettering's.

Its fun watching poorly constructed things collapse (from a safe distance that is).

Also having fun here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/question … 175646356/

Re: Systemd maintainer for Debian quits

Like someone once said "complaining won't get you too far".  I gave up on Debian after some updates, systemd did not like some of my scripts.  I will reboot my box then I get a strange message about system updating or I will try and update the box but I will get a message that another program is using "su -".  Somethings in those lines.  After some investigation, I realized that I have to kill my scripts.  That was the end for me.
