. . . before I got accused of not considering folks with disabilities.

"Just a suggestion . . . Are you aware that the gray on gray is borderline to being an accessibility hindrance for a lot of folks? It also looks like there might be some blue there but the contrast is so minimal I can't really discern it."
You have an overactive imagination. I "accused" you of nothing.
Why are you accusing me of imaginary intentions? And putting words into my mouth or thoughts into my head.
I am sensitive to the subject because I have known visually challenged individuals since the 70s and have always tried to be as inclusive in my communications as possible.
greenjeans and I (and others here) go back well over a decade. . . Long before you came on the scene. So your perspective has very little relationship to history or reality. Neither does it provide value to others. It is just an amateur hit piece. Time to grow up . . .
No one ever said there was. But there are general rules that help to make content more accessible and conversely practices to avoid. One being low contrast . . .
Have to run but do have a look at some recommendations that pop up for this search:
standard practices to create digital content accessible to the visually impaired
Just a suggestion . . . Are you aware that the gray on gray is borderline to being an accessibility hindrance for a lot of folks? It also looks like there might be some blue there but the contrast is so minimal I can't really discern it.
Welcome to Devuan!
As an introduction to Devuan, please take a look at the systemd packages that are banned in Devuan. One is text and the other graphical:
https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/bannedpackages.txt
https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/log/unstable-banned.svg
That will give you an idea of the magnitude of the problem and how most of it is solved . . . it is sent to the trash bin!
Check https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/bannedpackages.txt
There are several mentions of "lomiri" listed there. Sorry . . . you'll have to decipher it yourself. ![]()
That's okay golinux, go back to sleep. You weren't doing anything useful around here anyway.
Wrong yet again. I never sleep during the day because I actually have a life to live other than behaving for the machine. You are so assimilated, it is unlikely you could even grasp such a reality. The machine has turned human existence into some sort of glassy-eyed purgatory . . .
/me yawns . . .
@franmm - Devuan is Debian without systemd. Full stop. Perhaps you would like to provide and maintain a better solution for Devuan?
FYI . . . Our first "official" forum was Discourse which was out of tune with Devuan's user base and failed rather spectacularly. D1G replaced it after several years of running both. We don't need a new forum. But there are plenty of things that always need attention at Devuan if you are looking for something to do . . .
FWIW . . . I have never heard of anyone trying to migrate from sid (Debian unstable) to ceres (Devuan unstable). sid and ceres are not "releases". They are the "unstable" branches of their respective distributions.
Many thanks for helping to support the cost of running our infrastructure! Any questions? Just ask. We are here to help.
Please note that installing Ubuntu packages is NOT an "official" recommendation. In fact, we advise to avoid installing non-Devuan/Debian packages into the mix.
There is serious resistance:
jaromil on X . . . "In 2019 we removed machine-id from @DevuanOrg and we will remove age verification now. "AgelessLinux" is based on Debian, a foundation made to spy on users in a way or another, because it tracks machine-id."
@JayneCobb . . . Welcome to Devuan and thanks for helping to keep the servers up and running! Any questions? A search for keywords might solve your problem. If you're still stuck, folks here tend to be very helpful so don't be shy. See you around!
Speaking of a strange comment that is totally irrelevant to my usecase:
^^ That's basically like putting a piece of tape over the check engine light in your car so you don't have to see that it needs maintenance.
My machine just works because I don't mess with it except for updates/upgrades and I only visit a very narrow selection of destinations. No experimentation. Just making sure that all of Devuan's moving parts are in order and tended to.
@greenjeans . . . That would depend on what you are doing with your machine day to day. I have only had to deal with .xsession-errors when I was messing around and breaking things and those days have faded into the past. Behaving for the machine is not a life. I have better things to do with my remaining years. Apologies if that offends you.
Note that if one rarely reboots, there is no need for fancy, smanchy solutions to .xsession-errors removal. ![]()
Or . . . perhaps "less" is more" and "depression" is a choice . . .
I don't really trust any of the equipment I use. It's essential for me nonetheless.
And we stupidly and willingly followed the breadcrumbs because we were so entranced by all the toys . . .
I think using AI is essential . . .
I beg to disagree. The "essentials" are food, water, air and hopefully shelter. All the toys we play with are just the products of churning, deluded minds. And what a mess we make of it!
@mweishaar . . . No need to apologize or to have deleted your post. You just wanted to share. Happy to hear you like "deathmetal". Keep fingers crossed that it might yet be available some day.
I have no idea why Ceres stopped working, it might be because my internet provider is BT in the UK.
LOL! Maybe it is because Ceres is "unstable" and always in flux until it is officially released as "stable"?
