Why don't we fork systemd instead? Let's just remove unneccessary parts. Can't we do that? Wouldn't it be better? Or worse?
Why would anyone want systemd in the first place?
@czeekaj - There has been a customized Clearlooks-Phenix-* theme for each Devuan release. Take a look here for some theming tips. Clearlook-Phenix is down the page a bit. Might give you some ideas.
I would have actually enjoyed American history class if this had been the guide. No such luck as the book hadn't been written yet!
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
Wow! Was the solution as simple as that?
Debian and Linux forums couldn't help yet in the same timeframe!
We are here and they are there for many reasons, one of which you just discovered.
You don't owe me anything, I'm just a lowly user who works on other FOSS, but FWIW I find this lacking.
Not going to waste anymore time on this as any answer I provide would not satisfy you.

> We are all adults
Waiting for this part to be revised once some under-18 users complain (which they should)...
Some under 18 are more adult than many over 18. IOW, maturity is not a number and hopefully those who come here will attempt to understand that.
I am on sid Devuan
Just to reduce confusion for new readers . . .
There is Debian sid.
There is no Devuan sid.
There IS Devuan ceres.
Devuan ceres identifies, works around some and blacklists other systemd dependencies in Debian sid.
Yes I think there was a mistake on that link;
the OP had this link: https://imgur.com/8MA5SQK which does include the "swoosh"
Yeah, I saw that up top. A bit too murky imo but at least marginally visible. Thankfully not my problem . . . ![]()
I'm confused . . . maybe it's my old eyes . . . or maybe I don't understand what a watermark is . . . or maybe I need special xray glasses?
And how its can help?
You can find stuff.
. . . driver from sid and i use stable
You might be able to backport it to stable. Don't ask me how. That's beyond my skill-set.
You can download and install just what you need.
pkginfo.devuan.org is a very useful tool.
No need to add Debian repo. Devuan already has it!
Debian sid = Devuan ceres
I think that zapper and andyprough should create their own forum where they can try to outdo each other's nonsense. Please stop wasting Devuan resources on irrelevant babble.
Seems you've forgotten this is a GNUinOS - Libre thread not a Trisquel thread.
I tried to make a small donation but the form wanted my phone number and that's something I would even give to mother Theresa :-)
I just investigated the options HERE and it seems that credit card donations are going through PayPal (yuck) and the the form does indeed ask for a phone number. Is that the option you tried? I don't know if it's always been that way but I can ask the folks at dyne if they are aware it is set up that way. That web page hasn't been changed in a long time. PayPal might have changed their procedure or someone would have probably mentioned it before.
This thread has reached a new and embarrassing low in Devuan history . . . grow up . . .
hm, chimaera should be daedalus, no?
Yes. bookworm will be excalibur
Don'cha know that the kiddies have to be stoopiD . . .
@zephyr . . . Does this suit you? Presentation is framed because the light BG kills it.

There is also the debian-cd package:
If you go that route you'll need to be aware of the banned packages list or suffer the consequences.
This wouldn't work for you?
server (~670 MB): CD1 of a 4 CD set that allows for a complete off-line server/minimal installation. The remaining CDs offer several desktop choices and a limited selection of additional software.
CD2: Xfce (installable from tasksel) and LXDE.
CD3: MATE (installable from tasksel) and Openbox window manager.
CD4: Cinnamon (installable from tasksel) but requires CD2 and CD3 to install.
