Please stop this nonsense, it has totally derailed this topic.
/me is getting an itchy delete finger . . .
#1028 Re: Off-topic » Idle chatter nonsense » 2023-02-04 04:08:45
Are y'all that bored? Really. Maybe get a life?? This nonsense is wasting devuan bits and that's rather shameful. Please get a grip . . .
#1029 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » Unity desktop environment » 2023-02-01 17:36:14
You are free to port Unity to Devuan and offer it to the community.
#1030 Re: Forum Feedback » why don't we get automatically subscribed to our own threads? » 2023-02-01 17:31:11
. . . but since FluxBB is deliberately feature-limited and seemingly no longer maintained I guess those are unlikely.
^^^ This.
In addition . . . minimalism rules here. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to subscribing to threads. That is left to the user.
#1031 Re: Other Issues » [Devuan Ceres] Retrieving Bug Reports takes several minutes » 2023-02-01 03:43:24
@MiyoLinux . . . There was some shuffling of infra to rebalance the load recently and sometimes things just go pear-shaped.
#1032 Re: Devuan » Meet the Daedalus sapphire theme » 2023-02-01 03:37:27
Sapphire theme is done
I don't know if Devuan has a particular emphasis on LXQt or not, but hopefully people get some use and enjoyment out of these.
Quite a few Devuan users have LXDE or LXQt installed so your themes will definitely be appreciated. Maybe you'd want to open an account on our git and add them there?
I really like both Devuan and LXQt as projects, but due to complete lack of coding skill this is the only way I can contribute anything...
Ditto. I am pretty good at playing with colors, editing/writing and keeping track of Devuan's history etc. I also took care of the websites for many releases but have now passed that task on to someone else. I will do the wallpaper for Excalibur but no more theming beyond that. Perhaps you'd want to take some of that on for XFCE? Please contact me on irc or by email if you have an interest in that.

Much appreciated!
#1034 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » GIMP interface icons. » 2023-01-31 17:38:54
@aluma . . . Yes, please stop posting images of text. Instead, copy/paste the terminal output into the message box and then use the "code" tag in the list above this input window. Thanks.
#1035 Re: Devuan » Meet the Daedalus sapphire theme » 2023-01-31 05:34:58
Greetings Azuma Hazuki!
I have been following your LXQt thread with great interest. Thank you for porting the themes to a WM environment!
No need to pull down anything from daedalus to get the themes. All of the raw files and documentation for all the themes are collected in our git store
The base colors of chimaera and daedalus are extremely different. The deepsea theme of chimaera is greenish and murky. This was my inspiration. The sapphire theme of daedalus evokes the brilliant colors of the sun drenched seas surrounding the Greek Islands where Daedalus was born.
That being said, the 2 themes share a light blue element so I recycled the icons and images from the Clearlooks-Phenix-Deepsea and the gnome desktop icons. All the other elements and icons share there respective signature colors. It works well on the desktop but a WM might not use the features that focus on the primary theme color but rather just the shared elements.

"I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that."
+1 . . . and there you have it . . .
#1038 Re: Off-topic » Should someone use openai ChatGPT? » 2023-01-28 15:47:19
Thanks HoaS.
Anyone with connected brain cells would have recognized the danger of AI instantly. Sadly, most humans seem to lack that capability . . .

Do you even need to ask?
#1040 Re: DIY » sudo and slim » 2023-01-27 21:11:43
@golinux: I think antiX is using https://gitlab.com/antix-contribs/slimski. I thought Devuan was as well tbh.
Nope. First I've heard of slimski . . . that I can remember . . . LOL!

#1042 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » Change locales issue » 2023-01-26 16:53:34
@F_Sauce . . . You should be able to edit you previous posts to change the tag to code.
#1043 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » git netfilter compile problem » 2023-01-26 01:57:11
@dcolburn . . . I think your expectations may be a bit unrealistic. You have been asking questions now for some time and had responses from knowledgeable users yet you haven't been able to get things working. Seems that somehow things are getting "lost in translation". Perhaps you could find a local Linux user to help you with hands on your machine. There used to be local Linux User Groups (LUGs) for that kind of interaction though I don't know quite how you would go about connecting with someone in 2023. Just a thought . . .
#1044 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » git netfilter compile problem » 2023-01-25 17:00:59
@all: probably best to stop pandering to this person, I suspect they are trolling us.
@ HoaS the irrepressible cynic . . . I believe that the explanation is much simpler . . .
I am an old person. A very old person. Because I am an old person I took note that early on dcolburn mentioned he was also of a certain age. IIRC, I beat him by some years. When you are such an age . . . if the earth is still around by then . . . you will come to understand the challenges . . .
#1045 Re: Installation » [SOLVED] consolekit requirement » 2023-01-23 18:29:22
This forum does not have a spell checker. Just right click to add "Devuan" to you system's dictionary . . .
#1047 Re: Installation » "target_home" dir after installation? » 2023-01-22 04:30:34
@deepforest . . . you might want to read the descriptions of the available Devuan isos on our website.
#1048 Re: Off-topic » What are you reading/want to read ? » 2023-01-21 19:33:24
Every few years I revisit this gem from 1982 that had such a huge impact on my life. Just images and music (Philip Glass) . . .

As soon as I fully wake up, this thread is gonna have major surgery and time out for Evenson. You never know what toxic alien life-forms will drop by for a surprise visit . . . LOL!
