(RHEL & SUSE EL) LMDE is mostly maintained for quality assurance of Mint's main Ubuntu based system. If Ubuntu goes proprietary expect it to go immutable as well, which would eliminate Ubuntu based distros.

Fantasy fallacy. Conquests and genocides by monotheistic peoples are simply the most historically documented and not necessarily the worst or most in history, and in fact more likely not to be. Humans have always slaughtered each other and the worst of these examples are far more likely to be uncivilized and illiterate and thus historically undocumented. Saving the stone age is no way forward for civilized humans. There is no innocence there.

Saw John Cage in 1967 or 68. He had a covered cake pan full of cecropia moths which he uncovered on stage and attempted to toss the moths into the air. Unfortunately the moths had become lethargic and simply fell to the stage floor with quiet plops.
