LCOS : Lunduke Computer Operating System

Brian Lunduke, who has a YouTube channel https://youtu.be/vAeCBpWH1AA mostly about Linux and has been a Devuan user, has released an Alpha v0.1 of his own distro called LCOS, based on Devuan but adapted with his own ideas and preferred default applications. It is partly a reaction against age verification, systemd, politicisation, Wayland and Rust, with those things appearing in certain other distros although not of course in Devuan which is no doubt why he chose it for his base. His software choices tend to lightweight, and some are a bit quirky such as a terminal emulator that reproduces CRT barrel distortion, although you could always replace it of course.

I downloaded it to check it out. Like you said Duke Nukem, and Bryan does as well, it is light weight and based on Devuan. I love Devuan, and as long as Devuan stays the course, then I have no plan on ever leaving.....although it is nice to have another choice out there.

The first official version has been released. I'm not planning on switching but I agree 100% with his outlook on things. I hope he succeeds.
