Re: We all aware the interweb is problematic, deranged, imbalanced.

I hear and appreciate what you say golinux
I have contributed to an apparmor post today, and also took the effort to big up Beaver editor.
I am a veteran photojournalist who lives moving too fast or dug in too deep and this time I am giving now I don't always have.
This post did start with Tim Berners-Lee recently saying the web has ended up producing a large-scale emergent phenomenon which is anti-human.

golinux your last comment was wrong and out of order

can government/corporation lift data that is in memory, what I said password CVC code
I wish I was in the company of my friend the best doctor of nanotechnology on the planet
anybody got any ideas, is my hit airplane mode before typing password clever,
golinux your no doubt excellent admin brain is these questions are not your section but I am precisely here because there is a rare mix of wonderful minds here.

Camtaf clearly states, isn't it.
Even have the most important component, the Power Supply Unit, under control.
Moving data down the mains is easy peasy.

I havn't used synaptics for time, use libinput, which is getting recommended these days.
And if you are a karagkiozhs, use gboard in Android.

Presently I'm into peropesis OS.
It's lithuanian.

That is a matter of perspective.

There can be no "offense" when none is taken . . . Internal reaction to external stimuli is a CHOICE. Humans are notoriously poor at understanding this which is why our species is hopelessly mired in ignorance and conflict.

Yes, the Devuan "pond" has the most amazing fish swimming in it. On this we can agree.

But even if the internet had not taken the predictable turn that it has, there would be similar problems to distress us. Again, it is a CHOICE how to respond to them. Distress is not useful. Action is. Those of us here have made a choice and doing a pretty good job of it . . .  smile

Re: We all aware the interweb is problematic, deranged, imbalanced.

Presently my main motivation for relaxing in Peropesis is to learn some network configuration.
Debian is fine although ifconfig and route on the netinstall would be nice amongst other things, I suppose bzip2 would be asking too much I know it's about security, Red Hat Fedora has become a questionable puzzle, Peropesis is based on a general filesystem hierarchy standard, has ifconfig and route, wpa_supplicant and wpa_passphrase, dhcpd.
And finally, iw.
Time for me to learn some iw as I aborted first time, found it a pain in the bottom.
Does anybody like iw, got anything interesting to say about it.

Re: We all aware the interweb is problematic, deranged, imbalanced.

The only thing I use iw for is power management; ip & iwctl do all the legwork in my system.

You should try iwd, it's lighter & more secure than wpa_supplicant with fewer dependencies.

Thank you Head I like it,
I'm a bit out of date, like you I prority power management,
alternative to wpa sounds wonderful flipping dependencies.
I don't think I'll ever give up ifconfig and route, & debfoster! & psmisc killall
ifconfig hw ether MAC is so easy.
Cheers.

It's the ultimate "gene therapy" — the only winning move is not to play :-)

if it's primarily a disease of the nervous system then calling a WMD nerve agent gene therapy is some agents abstruse and profound words.

No . . . the technology is questionable. Always has been. The road it is going down is not progress.  It is human hubris. I have been watching carefully since the mid-90s and can find nothing there that I would knowingly touch . . .

There seems to be a failure in grasping the first word of this post, problematic,
I was inferring implying, routine engineering.

The network can also be configured using iw.
For me, the question is different.
Two of my computers (desktop and netbook) have wi-fi connection. I'm using trinity which has a forwarded network manager. The TDENetworkManager applet shows the signal strength as in a mobile phone. So, to change this level to full, sometimes it is enough to move the desktop antenna by 10 cm.
But, of course, it's a matter of our personal choice.
And for learning the newest, I can recommend pclinuxos. A wonderful distribution kit, works out of the box, with all the "charms" of a rolling release without the possibility of a rollback.

Regards.
