First check how many memory sticks you have. If you have more than one then test each with memtest86+ (one pass will be enough). If one gives no errors they you don't need to replace that stick.

You *might* find that one of the sockets in the motherboard is faulty so the memory will work correctly in another socket. Or if you are really lucky just removing and replacing the memory will clean the connections and make it work.

I once replaced 4 memory sticks. They failed.  I played with it a bit but eventually took it to my local hardware guy.  It took several attempts for him to figure out that they only worked in one specific configuration.  Go figure . . .

I only had one 4 gig stick. Just replaced it with one brand new 8 gig stick. Hopefully my browser crashes are now a thing of the past.

One of my RAM sticks just gave up the ghost...had a nervous-jerkdown...bit the dust and winked at me while doing so.

I now have 3 GBs of RAM on a 64bit computer...

This kind of thing happened to me with my last motherboard system, but I found that it was corrosion in the motherboard slots that caused spurious ram errors. All quallity parts but bad location to live without air-cond.

Well headstick, you've blasted palemoon and it's admittedly 1st class A hole developers (not to mention that kids' gaming style pantomime of a forum of theirs') and you've failed to get a rise.

And when it turned out that palemoon wasn't to blame at all, not even a murmur from the fans...
