(beowulf) gtk3 needed!

Hello ,

i would like to install on a fresh install of Beowulf with Cinnamon the latest
Gtk-youtube-viewer;
however, it is now only possible to build the newest version with gtk3 and no longer has a fallback option for gtk2.

can someone please help me to install gtk3 on Devuan Beowulf?

Did look some packages like "libgtk3-dev" but this would not suffice.

<it says that i am not having gtk3 installed>

Re: (beowulf) gtk3 needed!

you may need to install the Glib::Object::Introspection module
Result: FAIL
Failed 22/22 test programs. 0/0 subtests failed.
make: *** [Makefile:829: test_dynamic] Error 2
  XAOC/Gtk3-0.038.tar.gz
one dependency not OK (Glib::Object::Introspection); additionally test harness failed
  /usr/bin/make test -- NOT OK
//hint// to see the cpan-testers results for installing this module, try:
  reports XAOC/Gtk3-0.038.tar.gz

Re: (beowulf) gtk3 needed!

thanks,

it was only needed to install

libglib-object-introspection-perl

then it would build correctly, it seems that gtk3 is already present.
(please mark solved)

And if you are logged in, there's a link that says 'Mark SOLVED' just below the edit button and next to the link that says 'Post reply'.

Re: (beowulf) gtk3 needed!

sad I am sorry, don't seem to find this button on my screen(s). roll

Being logged in, I call up one of my original posts (I assume the option is only available for the OP). No sign of a "Mark solved" link. I can find "post reply", Preview, all the bulletin tags, but no mark. Would be for sure nice to have .....

I am using Firefox ESR, latest update. UBlock Origin and Noscript are active. What are the boundary condition to get this link? Where exactly should it be?

Edith: same with Palemoon, just tried it.

Sorry for the tease. That link might be one of my special powers as admin.

Re: (beowulf) gtk3 needed!

IIRC the OPs should be able to mark their own threads as solved once the edit window has expired. That was the whole point of adding that feature. Of course, admins can see and use it too.
