#1451 Re: Installation » Devuan and LEMP. PHP 7.4+? » 2021-09-22 06:13:29

It looks like it's available for chimaera (bullseye) and/or ceres (sid):

There are also rebuilds for beowulf here:

I needed some good news for a change.  Thanks for catching that . . .

@Élisabeth . . . your tenacity is quite extraordinary!  Congratulations!

#1454 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » [SOLVED] Chimaera XFCE SLiM "Switch Users" option (multiuser system) » 2021-09-19 02:30:22

I think you may be right that it changes desktops.  I'm a little hazy lately and should stop trying to answer questions as I'm batting zero today.

#1455 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » [SOLVED] Chimaera XFCE SLiM "Switch Users" option (multiuser system) » 2021-09-18 23:32:44

On the slim panel there is a note to  Press F1 to select sessions. Did that not work?

#1456 Re: Installation » How to partition my disk ? » 2021-09-18 22:33:33

Duh . . . sorry for the noise.  FWIW, I always pre-partition my disks and then just point the installer to the appropriate ones. But then I most often install with the "live" iso (and not very often).

#1457 Re: Installation » How to partition my disk ? » 2021-09-18 21:53:38

@Élisabeth . . . Have you looked at the install guide on the website?  There are images of the installation screens and comments too.  I am pretty sure that instructions are the same for chimaera.

#1458 Re: Documentation » [SOLVED] Synaptic mirrors? » 2021-09-15 19:08:46

Happy that you got things sorted and welcome to Devuan.

#1459 Re: Documentation » [SOLVED] Synaptic mirrors? » 2021-09-15 18:21:58

sources.list info is detailed here.  Chimaera has not been released yet but you are welcome to test.  Otherwise use beowulf which is the current stable release.

#1461 Re: Installation » [SOLVED] USB image - Access Denied error » 2021-09-14 16:47:03

Yeah, I mentioned Rufus early on.  Seems it got lost in the confusion,

#1462 Re: Desktop and Multimedia » Blanking screen » 2021-09-13 21:29:57

I don't know about Mate but Xfce has display options in the power management settings.

#1463 Re: Off-topic » [SOLVED] Devuan GNU/Linux 5 (daedalus) Released as Next Testing! » 2021-09-13 02:40:34

@zapper . . . it would be nice if more of your responses actually contributed knowledge to Devuan . . .

Wow, you guys were mega fast in getting Devuan chimaera out...

The subject of this thread is misleading.  Chimaera has not been "officially" released yet.  Will be soon though . . .

#1466 Re: Installation » [SOLVED] USB image - Access Denied error » 2021-09-08 21:45:57

I have heard rufus mentioned a few times too.  A migration is possible https://www.devuan.org/os/install but not always trouble-free. Search the forum for discussions.

OK just searched for "Image failed to verify with ACCESS DENIED" and getting a lot of hits.

#1467 Re: Installation » [SOLVED] USB image - Access Denied error » 2021-09-08 21:38:13

Have a look at this post: https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=30971#p30971

Since I always do legacy boot not sure it's the issue you're experiencing but doesn't hurt to mention it.

Good intentions without action bears no fruit.  He who seeks, finds.  You are most welcome to offer solutions to posts on this forum or perhaps fix a bug.  Only you know your skillset and abilities and can choose to offer them to the community.  smile

#1471 Re: Installation » Someone Removed My Bug Report » 2021-09-02 18:10:56

Yes, there is a "we" at Devuan.  That is what's makes this distro unique and powerful.

I have not touched your email or forum accounts. Neither have I suggested or encouraged action to be taken by anyone else.

#1472 Re: Installation » Someone Removed My Bug Report » 2021-08-30 17:51:35

The 502 error on bugs.d.o has been fixed. It seems that /tmp was full.

#1473 Re: Installation » Make "fresh" copy Jessie iso. » 2021-08-30 16:15:06

Just a hunch but it might be useful for you to understand how Devuan merges Debian repos with amprolla.

#1474 Re: Installation » Someone Removed My Bug Report » 2021-08-30 16:07:58

In addition, the dev who processes the bug reports rarely visits this forum and has been on holiday.

We accept your apology.  smile

#1475 Re: Installation » Network Issue With Devuan » 2021-08-29 20:46:20

@Jakoline . . .

There is a difference between what is said and what is interpreted through our mental filters.  All humans suffer from these mental distortions and sadly build  entire identities from the fictitious rationalizations and justifications generated from them.

You are only the victim of your own internal distortions and only you can heal them. Not to worry.  You have plenty of company.

Devuan is on the track that it is on. Perhaps if you had stayed around and contributed, it would now be something more suited to your needs.

It seems that you have in effect, with your dramatic departure, self-banned. As everything in life, the choice is yours so best to choose wisely.

And finally a reminder . . . less is always more.
