dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null bs=1M count=32768

The Cruel Sea... "The Honeymoon is Over",

The Dark Horses.

Well worth the effort, genuine musician.

Dark Horses take me back.

vast amount of info there nili, cheers.

ogis, nice. Is that like the dark side of gemini? Also i always wonder why suckless dont use the blue from the website suckless.org #1177AA instead of the default #005577 cyan, much nicer color imo.

Leonid and Friends has a new upload, a remake of Chicago's "Inspiration" - https://yewtu.be/watch?v=HQdoD0R9d1w

Not my favorite Chicago song, as it's one from the Peter Cetera love ballad era, but to their credit Leonid and Friends do it better than the original. And this one is worth watching if only to see Konstantin Kovachev's virtuoso guitar performance over the final minute of the song.

Oh wow that was good, like double whipped cream on a warm chocolate muffin good!!  True musicians too!

^ that is what i was thinking needed to happen when i looked at the  mt-gnu manpage, i have hadnt much to do with mknod, i suppose it is similiar to makedev.

#87 Re: Off-topic » Do you know jOS? » 2021-05-21 16:40:54

reads like a cloud based docker appliance.

#88 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » Bluetooth adapter not detected » 2021-05-21 16:10:31

nothing broadcom in those outputs. Were you talking about an internal adapter card when you mentioned broadcom in your original post?

Yeah, we made it official at yesterday's meeting. Nice to see that you showed up, but you left too soon. IRC is asynchronous. You gotta hang around, even if you don't sit there watching the irc screen.

bit of a shitshow by the looks of this freenode issue. Ill stick with the volunteers though, looks like they have had the rug pulled out from under them so to speak.

ahh, im offline more than online. back there now.....

#90 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » Bluetooth adapter not detected » 2021-05-21 15:26:09

i see rfkill list shows nothing for bluetooth which makes me wonder if that functionality is damaged perhaps? How long ago did you have it working with microsoft?

please show output of rfkill like this.

sudo rfkill list all

also this command.

lshw -c network

looks like most of the staff volunteers have left freenode due to a takeover.

https://www.kline.sh/

Ive read freenode is being flooded with spam due to lack of admin.

Might be time for devuan to switch to something else?

Edit: nevermind, seems devuan has changed over to the newly created librera chat in the last day or so, https://libera.chat/

You could add the line to the file

/etc/sysctl.conf

echo net.ifnames=0 >> /etc/sysctl.conf

You may need to reboot to activate the command.

that and or put net.ifnames=0 in /etc/default/grub, find the line as per below and enter net.ifnames=0 between the quotes.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="net.ifnames=0"

then do,sudo update-grub and reboot machine

what broadcom adapter is it?

please post the output of this command.

sudo lspci -knn | grep Net -A3

#98 Re: Installation » low memory installation » 2021-05-19 15:50:22

^ alrighty then!

You obviously know much more about audio on computers than i do.

I will say this, the best sound i have listened to were never connected to a computer like a laptop or desktop machine and instead a made for purpose unit like what denon build, aka speakers and amplifier setups. There is no comparison to this and in my opinion cheap computer hardware will never be able to match it.

And if anyone knows a Devuan derivative that is light in Ram and comes with OSS by default, please let me know! Today I will defently not install another, but try to remove alsa "by hand" and install OSS in the same way...just to know if this is working fine also for my antiX installation.

alsa is fine, sounds like you may need the alsa-oss package perhaps?

golinux is correct, you should ask for help via the maintainer of the "unsupported distro".

What have you tried?

You should be safe to do the following command in a terminal and choose the correct locale if you havent already done so.

# dpkg-reconfigure locales
