If you are referring to Devuan, I doubt it will die.
I mean xfce sorry.
Hi guys, when Xfce 4.18 is released, is there a possibility that it will come in Chimaera? Maybe via the backports?
No. It is impossible. Maybe in Daedalus. Of course, on the condition that this project does not "die".
Or you can install zoom as flatpak
alexkemp wrote:Ogis1975's is a reasonable question to ask.
I disagree: it's a totally useless question.
Yes, of course. You won't get far with that attitude. By the way, even distrowatch mentioned this key issue. Great promotion for this distro.
P.S.
I have already migrated my machines to Debian land.
Hello, just tried to install Devuan Jessie via USB from Netinst and FullDVD, same error with devuan ascii
Devuan Jessie and Devuan ascii is EOL. You can try Chimaera (stable release) or Beowulf (oldstable). But keep in mind about this
@Ogis1975: So what's your purpose with that kind of post?
Please excuse my poor English. First of all, I wanted to ask why the persons responsible for maintaining the repository keys did not update them in time? Second of all, I wanted to ask about these people, i.e. Devuan developers approach to security. Is it normal that the people responsible for storing these keys have not updated them in time? Is it normal that these keys have to be manually downloaded and installed in a potentially dangerous way?
P.S.
I just want to reiterate that personally I have been using Debian for over ten years. I have NEVER had such or similar problems. Maybe Devuan developers should review their approach to security and not be so irresponsible? Personally, I'm about to migrate back to Debian land, since the Debian developers take security much more seriously.....
P.P.S
I don't want to offend anyone. This is just my opinion...
But how could this happen? I do not understand anything. How could those overseeing Devuan miss something of such importance? After all, the repository key is one of the cornerstones of security...As long as I've been using Debian, this nonsense has never happened...I think Devuan developers should take security more seriously (just my opinion and I didn't mean to offend anyone).
Why use this product of dubious quality when there is good quality and open source alternative-QEMU / kvm?

Thank you.
Thanks, dude.
There's a PDF version linked in the post that golinux posted where you can read the entire 'Software freedom your way' book yourself: https://bxl.dyne.org/media/actions/3-so … ur-way.pdf
Devuan users should read the entire book if possible.

Can you share another link?
Thank you.
sudo apt install android-file-transfer
...for a GUI...
sudo apt install android-file-transfer-qt5
Hello. Your last specified command is not needed, because the package
android-file-transfer
already contains a graphical ui.
In which package would I find the deepsea based desktop background image? I'm using Gnome 3 on arm64, and it does not seem to be installed right now... a download link for the .jpg file itself would also help.
Thanks,
Alex
Hello. Just install package
desktop-base
.
Sway (a tiling Wayland compositor and a drop-in replacement for the i3 window manager for X11) in Devuan Chimaera 4.0. As logout menu i use wlogout. It is a logout menu for wayland environments. I had to configure it a bit because it didn't work properly on Devuan (and all through the this systemd damn thing). As notification, i use mako.
As an application launcher i use fzf and the terminal emulator kitty, it'll look like this:
It should not hurt to have chimaera in source.list addionally.
Don't make a FrankenDevuan....
And did you know that Debian (and by extension Devuan) is a communist distribution?
They even have some useful documentation in the official repositories:
https://pkginfo.devuan.org/cgi-bin/pack … ism=15.3-3
Time to reinstall...
Anarchism is not a communism...
Don't brake your Devuan installation....Some third-party repositories might appear safe to use as they contain only packages that have no equivalent in Devuan (or Debian). However, there are no guarantees that this repository will not add more packages in future, leading to breakage. Packages in official Devuan (Debian) releases have gone through extensive testing, often for months, and only fit packages are allowed in a release. On the other hand, packages from external sources might alter files belonging to other packages, configure the system in unexpected ways ans introduce vulnerabilities. Once packages from unofficial sources are introduced in a system it can become difficult to pinpoint the cause of breakage especially if it happens after months.
Did you try Devuan Chimaera 4.0 stable release?
I don't really understand the essence of this distribution. After all, you can always install a minimal system and then install what you need. In addition, it is not yet clear what the author of this distribution added to his work. I don't want to offend anyone, but personally I would avoid this distributor.
^ I think the OP just wants a text editor. EMACS seems a bit excessive for that sort of thing...
But Atom takes longer to start up than emacs. This is because of the dynamic architecture of the app. The majority of code is written in JavaScript as opposed to C or C++, which is important for Atom’s extensibility, but makes it more challenging to ensure that the app starts quickly. Atom currently uses more memory than emacs.
Hi everyone, i'm trying to install ATOM
Just use emacs.
