"I think your objections should be considered but I don't agree that OpenBSD is completely free of these things either. It's quite easy to install most of what you mentioned in OpenBSD as well. I do agree that Chromium is awful, I don't use it either. I don't like Firefox much either, I'm going to work on repackaging iceweasel-hardened and icedove-hardened for Devuan from Parabola since they are lightweight and hardened which is rather nice,."
That would be awesome I'm using version 45 of GNUIcecat which still uses alsa so an up to date browser like that would be cool.

When you try to view it in more detail about Astian Foundation and Astian OS, a message appears that the connection is unsafe ...My browser is Firefox ESR 52.9.0. It would be good for the author to pay attention to this.
Same here.
Loving the awesome 32bit version - easily the most usable version of awesome I have used.

Hi WDQ,
First up thank you for this nice little distro. I am running this on a Dell D620.
Only issue I struck was getting my Iwl3945 to work and I could not mount usb flash drives. Finally figured how to do that from command line and was able to install the firmware from that - other than that very nice will probably be a keeper. :

Hi Ivan,
from a fellow griller.:)
Joshua - you seemed very enthusiastic about the creation of your distro ideas - I think you should focus on those goals and make something truely special to be enjoyed and used by all who download and check it out.
Hi Joshua,
I found your posts interesting about systemd. However I'm like a lot of people who are anti-systemd - kind of sick of hearing about it. Especially as I and others have seen its destructive effect on Linux.
I would rather focus on enjoying Devuan and its derivatives and testing and giving feedback where it is needed.
I have come from Puppy Linux namely the Murga Forums and there was a lot infighting and trolling there and its my sincere hope this forum remains a relativly peaceful environment where creativity can flow.
JoshuaFlynn]King-Pigeon ASCII upgrade has a couple of issues (seems to be with the dist-upgrade process? Unclear):
There's no LXDE shutdown or reboot option (terminal also doesn't acknowledge shutdown or reboot as commands.) [edit: using VM to send a shutdown signal results in nothing happening. Does the dist-upgrade pull across all appropriate options, or has this been disabled due to systemd madness?]:
Same issue with my ASCII Refracta install using nox 9 version - have to logout and shutdown from lightdm.
Yes I use this method either Refracta 9 nox or Devuan One net install on my T42 Thinkpad - I use forcepae option booted from unetbootin. Install and install basic LXDE core and reboot. Install non-pae kernel that machine requires and make a snapshot.
Joshua a version of Yad is available for Jessie here:
Cool Greenjeans,
I use your LXDE image - lovely to use.
Interested in your 32bit version any idea of a release date? Your idea of pidgeonising a distro is a bit like Barry Kauler's idea of Puppyfying ubuntu/Debian a few years ago. Mmmm come to think of it your ideas of modulism sound very Puppy Linuxish.
Hi,
mckaygerhard is correct for Jessie.
Hi will there be further releases?
Welcome:)
Congrats Miyo,
Perseverance gets you there, and you persevered - nice work.:)
WPS office used to be Kingsoft office and by the look of their forums is no longer developed and of course there is no relation between them and Abiword.
Well you have backports and security repos enabled so thats what you need.
Fist of all Welcome to Devuan.
Jessie is supported until April 2020. There is a Devuan Backports repo.
