Do those keybindings work on any other Openbox distros that you know of?
I've looked at the rc.xml files of a couple of other "more popular and well-known" Openbox distros, and neither of them have keybindings for either of those actions.
So, I tried making a keybinding for file menu and edit menu, and nothing I tried worked. Perhaps it's an Openbox situation...I don't know. I'll continue searching.
Nice to hear from you
You are doing a great job with MiyoLinux, as are all of the developers of other "spins", and much appreciated. I think that the plethora of spins is part of what makes the Devuan community vibrant and will hopefully draw new users to Devuan based systems.
I have experimented a bit with AppImages and found that all of the ones that I have tried, worked out of the box with a bog standard Devuan install, so I can confirm that everything necessary is in the official repos. A little tip, the AppImage that I have found so far with the largest amount of dependencies is the AppImage version of MuseScore musecore.org. I think the dependency issue is just a matter of not cutting into the bare metal, when doing a spin, or maybe including a disclaimer with a list of possible dependencies needed for running AppImages
All the best...
Strange. Perhaps I make MiyoLinux too minimal? Like Geoff 42, I've never even tried an .appimage until seeing this thread. Perhaps it's something in my minimalist approach in how I build Miyo that's leaving out certain libraries needed for .appimage to work. I have an idea of what to change, but whether that will work or not...hmmm...
I haven't checked the jessie repos, but I do know that musescore is available in the ascii repos...but that doesn't help the current Miyo-i3 situation which is based on jessie. I'm so sorry for your trouble.
I just saw this. My apologies for the problem. I didn't foresee there being this future conflict when I made the .isos.
Okay. I decided the quickest thing to do was to add all of the new "features" (?) to Miyo-XTRA. If anyone is interested, both 32 and 64 bit versions are now available on the Sourceforge site.
Thanks for reporting this. I tried looking for some of those dependencies in the repos, and the few I tried weren't there. MiyoLinux uses only Devuan repos. I'll look into seeing about possibly including them in the future if they're easily tracked down and installable. I'm sorry it didn't work out of the box for you.
Okay...I've done a ton of work on different things...had to totally revamp a lot of things too. My original intent was to include all of the new "stuff" on a regular MiyoLinux release; however, I may re-release the latest Miyo-XTRAs with the new items...haven't decided for sure yet. Here's my latest inclusion...a "Welcome Screen" for the Live Session that pops up after the desktop loading sound finishes (of course). Can't take away from that stinkin' awesome little diddly that plays. LOLOL!
...and thanks fsr...for putting up with my simple blunders.
Splendid
What do you mean c'mon ascii, I am already bored with it
I can't wait for beowulf
Well, I was hoping to include the new Control Center and Live Keyboard Layout applications in a straight MiyoLinux Ascii release (just openbox/tint2...no panel switcher)...to coincide with the Devuan Ascii release.
...but I might go ahead and release it under Jessie...'cause that's the way I roll...
I noticed there is no English (Australia)...wondering if Australia/New Zealand uses the English UK as a keyboard layout?
Oh...I finally figured it out...

I don't see my Papua flag in there
Hey! I know some folks from Papua New Guinea!
Do they have a keyboard layout... -_-
DOH! I used LXDE's keyboard layout switcher as a guide...so you'll have to blame them.

Thank you ma'am.
I have to admit...this thing is stinkin' fun! LOL!
Here...I'll quickly change over to Arabic to show what it'll do...
أثمخخم! اخص شقث غخع فخيشغ؟
If your Arabic, please don't be offended...I used my US keyboard to type, "Hello, how are you today?"...but I don't know what it spelled out in Arabic!
Here's a little Greek for you...
Ου! Σηατ αμ Ι δοινγ?!?!?!?
I said, "Oy! What am I doing?!?!?!?" Whether that's what it said in Greek, I don't know, because I'm still using my US keyboard. LOLOLOL!!!
DEVUAN! KEYBOARD! LIVE SESSION!
I'm having a stinkin' ball with this!
I've kicked the idea around about having a repository, but I've opted not to for several reasons. The two biggest reasons are...
1. It's about Devuan.
2. If anything ever happens to me for whatever reason, folks will still be able to update/upgrade their system since it's all Devuan repositories. Especially now that I'm installing Obmenu-Generator through git, and fixing it is so easy now if a user dist-upgrades.
I have thought about making a Github/Gitlab/Gitsomething account or a "Repository" folder on Sourceforge so that people could download and install some of this stuff onto their existing installations.
There is no package named suspend in the repos, but there are these. I didn't know about these three - I always install pm-utils for suspend and hibernate. If you want to see a longer list, run 'apt-cache search suspend'.
aptitude search suspend p autosuspend - daemon to suspend a system in case of inactivity p gnome-shell-extension-suspend-button - Gnome-shell extension to modify the suspend/shutdown buttons p razorqt-autosuspend - Autosuspend component for Razor-qt desktop environment
You're right...my bad recollection. I was thinking of "hibernate". My apologies. I "edited" my previous post.
miyolinux doesn't know what he's talking about
?
I use the Xfce power manager in MiyoLinux, but I have to install the "suspend" package too if I want the Suspend option.
Finished up the Live Keyboard Layout Switcher today. Got all the flags looking good, and it works like a charm. A user will be able to instantly change keyboard layouts on the fly. This will really help folks running a live session...which was my purpose for building it. It could also benefit installed systems if a user needs a different layout at times...and you're not limited to only four layouts!
Try all 94 of 'em if you want! LOL! Changes only remain for the current session (or changing it back during said session). The default keyboard configuration returns after logout or reboot. So, when you click a layout, the system automatically adopts it; therefore, one can click away.
Not sure how many hours I put into this, but it was less time than all of the searching I did trying to find something like this for Openbox. I tried one in a previous release, but it was a little buggy.
So...I "made my own". LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Aye yai yai...
Been working on a "Live Session Keyboard Layout Changer" with YAD for MiyoLinux. It think that it's safe to say that all of my hair is now gone.
LOLOLOLOL!!!
Flags are huge. The right size flags don't have all of the countries/layouts. Scaling the huge flags with Gimp doesn't look right...
Commands don't always seem to work like they do in the terminal...
...but I'm pressing on!
Well...that was quick! I just had to vent a little bit...
Got the commands working now...and hey...don't ask me what I did, because I just kept doin' stuff 'till it worked! I'm a stinkin' coding savante and didn't even know it! LOLOL! Just need to figure out what to do about the country/layout flags now.
There's 94 of 'em...most of the "right size flags" work; it's the missing flags amongst the "right-size" that are giving me grief. LOLOLOL!!!
The SCC (Simple Control Center) is coming along nicely too!

I got the patched kernel yesterday with a plain-old apt update; apt upgrade - didn't need dist-upgrade.
I will readily admit that I can't remember the difference between using apt vs. apt-get. Might oughta make a note-to-self for myself on that.
So...I wonder if that's the reason why you got it without dist-upgrade.
When I first ran a regular upgrade, I received one upgrade that was named eerily similar to the patched kernel. Without thinking, I thought, "There it is!" and went ahead and upgraded. About a minute later, it hit me...HEY!...that wasn't a kernel upgrade.
So...I did an apt-get dist-upgrade and then got the kernel.
I have installed MiyoLinux ascii version (dind't remember the name exact name) The Refracta installer did a good job and now It seems that it is working quite well with OB and tint2 and conky, some information about MIYO customisation (I wonder if they are mainly estetic tweaking) are welcome, I have tried to guess the MIYOLinux customisation to modify some behaviour.
Thanks to MIYOLinux and fsmithread posts I've learned some things.
I wonder what are the differences from MIYOLinux to a "plain" Ascii.
Regards to All and expecially to MIYOLinux and fsmithread for their good job.

Hi onekk, I'm glad Miyo is working well for you.
I'm not on a Miyo Ascii right now, or I would check, but I don't believe that I installed anything in Miyo Ascii that wasn't in Devuan Ascii other than my custom window themes (and I think I installed some icons which aren't part of Ascii). Everything else is simply configurations that I made to Devuan Ascii. The menu also came from Devuan Ascii...I just configured the Openbox menu to use the Xfce applications menu. So with Miyo Ascii, you are actually running a preconfigured Devuan Ascii system. All that I did was just put the Openbox system together for users.
If you're experiencing slow updates, you should change your sources.list according to the directions on the Miyo Wiki...
I don't think I'll have time to make a proper post of what's new, so I'll just do it quickly.
Miyo-XTRA is still Miyo...a minimal and base system that allows the user to install what they want/need on their system. Those familiar with MiyoLinux will know basically what is included...not much of nothin'!
In "addition" to not much of anything , there's no archive manager installed in this build so that users can choose the one they want.
Here's what's changed...
1. Using the amprolla repositories.
2. The Miyo Accessories now open as GUIs...or as I call them...SGUIs ("Simple"GUIs).
3. The XTRA means you get "extra" panels to choose from...tint2, LXPanel, Xfce4 Panel, and I've chosen to use Docky instead of Plank for the dock.
The panel switcher now changes panels with one click, and it overwrites the autostart file to use the chosen panel upon reboots.
4. Added a ... I don't know the proper terminology for it ... "desktop loading sound" that will play when the desktop first loads up. For those who don't like it or want it, it can be disabled in the autostart file. Not sure why anyone wouldn't want it though, because it's stinkin' awesome! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
5. The latest version of obmenu-generator is the Openbox menu. Now if a user upgrades to Ascii, they can regain the menu with only two terminal commands...plus, I left everything in from the git build...after all, git and build-essential are handy for a lot of people to have anyway, and they didn't make the .isos that much larger.
Other than those items and a couple of new wallpapers...it's the same old Miyo.
The Release Notes give much more information and detail...please make sure to read them.
Have fun, and "make it your own"!
