I have been unable to find an iso as described in the thread title. The only isos I have found are for the amd architecture.
I want to download direct from Devuan as the nearest mirror to me has an incomprehensible directory.

486 UEFI? No way. There is no 486 CPU supported by any bios with uefi.
Please show:

doubtful that a 486 system would have enough ram for _any_ Devuan.

Kernels are not built for i486 machines these days, no distro will work on it, (unless it specifically says so) - better look for another O/S to use on it.
Maybe try FreeDOS.

more re: 486
(also that processor photo is awesome in and of itself, ha!)

I thought the 486 require a 16-bit BIOS to initialize hardware and boot. Is UEFI even possible with a 486?

The only isos I have found are for the amd architecture.
arch: x86_64
amd64 is for any x86_64, Intel or AMD. The port is named that because AMD invented 64-bit x86 while intel was still floundering about with Itanic.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Four times is Official GNOME Policy.

Thanks. It seems, then, that the iso I need is devuan_excalibur_6.1.1_amd64_desktop-live.iso.
On reflection, Cinnamon seems like the better choice of DE. KDE6 is a mess.

If you use the 'Desktop' installer .iso, you should be able to install your choice of desktop to install, directly to your drive.
