[SOLVED] Security updates of Devuan compared to Debian

Hi,

I am intending to use Devuan for a public server (most likely in a VPS) but I am keen to know the process of security updates.

I am aware of Devuans relation to Debian in general but how does it work with security updates?  Are the Debian changes  mirrored in Devuan and does it imply a lot of manual work involved or will the change enter Devuan quite quickly? How does the release engineering flow look like?

Thanx in advance,
Erik

Devuan uses the Debian repositories for everything except systemd related software.

Re: [SOLVED] Security updates of Devuan compared to Debian

Thanks,

So the Devuan repos are mirrored from Debian and when a security patch is release in Debian it is directly available in Devuan then?

Are the packages mirrored from Debian every what-ever hours or are Debian mirrors included in the Devuan installation but with lesser priority than Devuans own mirrors?

Thanks,

I always find it difficult to understand how distros implement their respective dependencies. This is the first time I have gotten some understandable answer smile
