Well, before long Chimaera will be old stable then fade into history so it probably won't affect us that much. Some folks searching on the other spelling could even end up here which isn't a bad thing . . .

I like this distribution — dinit as PID1, FreeBSD user land, Alpine's package manager and GNOME as the default desktop. It even has ed in the base system. Nice. EDIT: and it uses doas instead of sudo and musl libc so it cannot be used with systemd.

Note that Alpine Linux is also a non-GNU Linux (one of the reasons I like it actually, GNU is bloat) because that uses busybox for the user land utilities.

I looked at that page and I noticed a few things:

They are against loud anti-systemd nonsense and far right movements at the same time.

Only problem is, systemd, was created by a corporation, thus... it falls in that exact territory.

Your caring about memory space while not caring about cpu usage tells me you fall in the suckless dogmatic category and thus you would be just as welcome as me there.

Did you not notice the "..." and the text beneath those excellent words of advice? HoaS had posted an unnecessarily crude, knee-jerk rant/response to charliebrownau. It was deleted/edited by one of our mods. In response, HoaS has apparently moved on from this forum because he has not been seen here since. Or maybe you like talking to the "dead"? It's a little creepy. Maybe try a seance . . .

Btw, he isn't actually dead... he just isn't around on this forum.

Dead means he is no longer alive, so... yeah not quite.

I am going to guess it was some dirty type of joke about charlie being pregnant or something stupider, etc...

Which, if so, is even more creepy than me commenting to him here.

I think that Shakyamuni would disapprove of this questioning of someone's mental status, when the real issue is the firefight over racial and political issues between charlie and hoas. It was your prior evasive response that led to zapper's further questioning, so if he does have any mental chaos on this topic it is probably due to this evasiveness. Maybe deleting hoas's response (whoever did that, I'm not sure myself) was not the greatest idea?

FYI . . . I rarely mess with anyone's posts because it is my hope that by leaving useless nonsense visible, the perpetrator(s) will eventually be so mortified that they will change their behavior. However . . . as this thread proves, it doesn't seem to work . . .

I have seen it work, sometimes and other times, no way.

Depends on how thin skinned the perpetrator is. If they are thin enough, they will eventually give up.
