Only a minor problem:
After changing from slim to lightdm the greeter backgrond is an xfce one. I don't know where it comes from, because
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
refers to
greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter
and the
/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf
points to
background = /usr/share/images/desktop-base/greeter-wide-large.png
and that is no jumping fat rat.
Also the charset ist not the one in /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf .
So obviously another config file is used, but which?
Offline
I think it is configured in desktop-base as part of the default theme but you should be able to override it.

What is desktop-base?
Seems to be vice versa. The jumping fat rat replaces another previously loaded background within some hundred ms. Looks like blending.
Offline
desktop-base is a package where the desktop theme is configured. Maybe you have an old configuration somewhere that is conflicting.
Offline
Where could "somewhere" be? It's an xfce-background.
Offline
desktop-base should be removed for smooth installation of your chosen bodykit
