Hi,
I installed devuan_chimaera_4.0.0_amd64_desktop.iso kde version,
but in the X windows, the root path is invisible.
I can cd to root file path , but the invisible root path is a little inconvenience.
How to fix this problem?
Thanks

Perhaps this from the Release Notes?
su
The behaviour of su changed in Devuan 3 Beowulf. These changes persist
in Devuan 4 Chimaera. Use su - to get root's path or use the full path
to commands if you use only su. See the following for more information:

Sorry, maybe I did not explain myself clearly.
The kde_devuan_chimaera_4.0.0_amd64_desktop.iso, does not directly show root files,
but the xfce_devuan_chimaera_4.0.0_amd64_desktop.iso, has devices_file_system, directly show bin, boot, root files,
I have another desktop upgraded from Devuan Beowulf kde version, can directly show home, desktop, downloads, root files.
Thank you for your precious time. Thanks.

does not directly show root files
^ This is not clear.
*What* does not show these files? With which program are you attempting to view them?
What do you expect to see? What do you actually see? Please explain in as much detail as possible.

Kde_plasma
I do not know how to upload image, so I copy files as below:
Kde_devuan_chimaera_4.0.0_amd64_desktop.iso, does not display root files:
file:///home/john/Desktop
file:///home/john/Documents
file:///home/john/Downloads
file:///home/john/Music
file:///home/john/Pictures
file:///home/john/Public
file:///home/john/Templates
file:///home/john/Videos
Another computer:
Devuan_Beowulf_kde_upgraded_to_ chimaera, displays home and root files:
file:///bin
file:///boot
file:///dev
file:///etc
file:///home
….
file:///root

Hi, my humble solution is as below:
Hope the devuan_chimaera_4.0.0_amd64_desktop.iso_kde_plasma version will fix the problem.
I searched the key word: kde plasma does not dispaly root file, found out someone had the similar problem:

Dolphin doesn’t show Root and Home partitions
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/dolphin-doe … ions/72402
In Dolphin, press F9 to show the Places sidebar (if it’s not already visible). Right-click the title (“Places”) of that section and choose “Show Hidden Places” from the popup menu.
You probably accidentally marked those partitions as “hidden”. Once they are visible again, you can right-click them and permanently un-hide them.

I tried dolphin and solved the problem:
Dolphin->top right(show menu)->configure dolphin->Startup->show on start up->choose ( /bin)->apply->
Dolphin(again)->will display Custom Path >bin ->click Custom Path->right click ->choose (Add to places)-> Custom Path will change to file->right click file and edit->
label: Root; choose an icon: folder-root-symbolic- >OK.
Dolphin return to normal:
-> Dolphin->top right(show menu)->configure dolphin->Startup->show on start up->choose (Folders, tabs, and window state from last time)->apply.

Thanks!
