I'm using Beowulf with the regular Devuan.org repos.
I did apt upgrade yesterday and noticed that it was downloading the updates from somewhere other than devuan.org.
It went by pretty quickly so I didn't notice the full message, but I'm pretty sure it said it was retrieving the updates from a domain other than devuan. I can't remember the domain name, I thought it said "fast" in there somewhere, but like I said it went by pretty quickly.
I did poke around in the logs, but couldn't find where the updates came from.
I'm probably being a little paranoid, but I just wanted to make sure that it's normal for a devuan installation to switch to a mirror when upgrading. Hopefully I'm not being completely daft here.

Ive noticed this mirror recently when installing some software, was a few days ago, cant remember what it was exactly.
ftp://devuan.ipacct.com/devuan-cd/
Im not sure how the mirrors work in devuan when you choose local mirror setup but i think it safe to say it pulls in network mirrors that are closest to you geographically.
The mirror you may be thinking of could be in the below link.

Devuan has a round-robin of package mirrors:
http://pkgmaster.devuan.org/mirror_list.txt
iso mirrors and package repository mirrors are two different things.

I thought that when i posted my reply, but was hinting at the actual repo mirror being
devuan.ipacct.com/devuan
Which is feckin fast for my neck of the woods, was getting 4 mb per second on that mirror.

They do know how to dance in Bulgaria!!
Some iso mirror providers also host a package mirror but not all. And some package mirrors may not provide iso mirrors. To lazy to diff the two lists.

The only time I have trouble connecting to the/a mirror is when the repos are being updated, just recently like for kernel 5.9 :-), But I check nearly everyday and notice sometimes for a few days at most the repo is unreachable. When this happens I switch to the main one and not the local mirror for a while.
