As per @xunilog's request, I have added a Purpylite skin to the available themes. The code boxes in that theme are now dark font on light gray. Feedback welcome!

i alway said the meaning of "contrast" its strong agains soft, not soft agains soft but at leas users can change the look when login in the forum..
I bet that if you survey how many users change the main theme you will find a big surprise, maybe forum need to make a survey to see it users real opinion..

Whilst I agree on the idea that strong contrast is better, a glance at the forum style usage rather shows that most people (88%) find the default anywhere on the scale from pleasant to sufficiently acceptable, to not bother to change.

Oh, I had nothing to do with that. They were part of the default FluxBB install. I only did the two purpy themes.

There's certainly room for creativity (should the energy be available, and seeking an outlet … in an acceptable direction).
