Any issues to be expected by disabling elogind?

I was reading the gentoo wiki. It sounds like I don't have many systemd dependent packages at least I hope I don't before i remove the package.
Any one know elogind's hard dependencies that exist?
I just ran

update-rc.d elogind disable

rebooted and it's fine. Should I expect any issues down the road? I can't find much on how it works or what it's actually required for besides gnome which I thought had something to do with gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0. https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Elogind

I'm running openbox, with a Xfce4-panel. slim doesn't seem to depend on it. So no problems logging back in. The user Gui is not broken and not dependent on it.

Despite the d on the end, elogind is a systemd free program, and not comparable to the Gentoo stuff. Look at post #12 in https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=2675.

When you remove elogind, I bet you will get issues with permissions.

When you search the forum for elogind and take a read through some threads you might get an idea why elogind is a good choice.

I'm hardly technical in this regard, but to expand on what golinux just said, elogind helps manage user sessions, primarily for X desktop applications' ability to log out/shut down/etc.
