Problems with Devuan Ascii.

I need to rewrite the subject because i'm convincing that the problem is that Devuan Ascii is missing something for this hardware, a firmware or something, it is not only a problem with xfce4-panel or VLC media, it is with the whole system, now it shot down by itself!, i did nothing, something is very wrong.

I tried another ISO devuan_ascii_2.0.0_amd64_cd-1.iso from a different mirror:  devuan.contrast.network with the same catastrophic results ... it is worse, it is not stable not even after re-initiate the system.

And, yes, of course, i changed the sources.list ...

Any way thank you very much to all of you for the help ...

Hi,

i have two problems with the xfce4-panel 4.12.1, first when i open any windows i can't reach the up right corner to close the window because the panel is obstructing the top side and the other thing is that everything added to the panel it is just agglutinating on the left side, i'm not able to fix anything at the right side.

Thank you very much for any help.

Re: Problems with Devuan Ascii.

Did you have a previous .config for xfce4 from another distro?

Is this a new install?  Did this work yesterday and the problem started after etc....?

Re: Problems with Devuan Ascii.

everything added to the panel it is just agglutinating on the left side

To "anti-agglutinate" to the right side; you can try adding a Separator with the expand option checked, to the panel.

Maybe try setting the Panel to Hide Always, move a window down from the under the Panel area, set Panel back to Hide Never, then maximize the window and see what happens.

You might try disabling compositing (if using) until you get the problem resolved.

Clear saved sessions.

As a last resort, maybe set up a new user and see how XFCE behaves when logged in as not you; if this user is ok, this would indicate what @ChuangTzu is leading to.

Also make sure it's unlocked .  Just go through all the preferences to set it up exactly as you want.

Re: Problems with Devuan Ascii.

It is a new installation, i'm just trying to see if this new iso is going be more stable that the one i have and of course i added a separator and it is going too to the left ... i tried many thing, lock and unlock the panel, hide and unhide ... i don't know what you means buy "try disabling compositing".

I forgot to says when i minimize the window it doesn't go to the panel it just disappear -- something is wrong with.
