A problem with the sound in kde on beowufl, i'm migrate to beowulf

hello

I have a "little" problem with the sound in kde.

I have migrated from ascii to beowulf installing without ascii without graphical environment. If you do it by installing with kde, it hangs.

In kde ascii I have no problem with the sound in kde.

But with beowulf I can't get my sound card up, a realtek S1220A

I've been going around for hours, online and in the repository. I'm missing something. I don't know what it is.

Someone with an idea to share?

Thank you

Basati

Re: A problem with the sound in kde on beowufl, i'm migrate to beowulf

Sorry, i have zero experience with beowulf but for a start does the card show up in lspci (i guess it's a PCI card?) and aplay -l. I know the ALSA output doesn't say all that much since KDE likely uses pulseaudio but i have no experience with this again.

Edit: Is firmware-linux and firmware-linux-nonfree installed?

Beowulf is not ready for primetime yet.  Especially on the Desktop.

Re: A problem with the sound in kde on beowufl, i'm migrate to beowulf

hello

I have to apologize for my behavior.

I believe that until now I had not interfered, that the rhythm of devuan is different from what I was used to.

What is clear is that in devuan the LAST thing that matters is the rhythm.

I have to say that I feel like a hacktivist again, thanks to devuan. I have been and I stopped being, you all know why, I think.

I've lived in unstable years, in testing most of them. For me the stable ones didn't have the meaning they have in devuan.

ASCII is a wonder, it works fine, very fine. No problems of any kind.

I have to admit that my anxiety comes from managing 5 email accounts and kmail 5.12 has introduced the components. A real wonder.

This leads me to a reflection, it wouldn't be interesting to think about the i3????? desktop.

https://i3wm.org/

It looks good and they say it's very light. It's taking off and maybe now might be a good time to get on.

I'm sorry, it won't happen again. Now I'm at the rhythm of devuan.

big thanks

If they were there and there were no problems with the sound, with play you could hear songs.

Kde's missing packages, I think.

I've done a doungrade to ascii and problem solved.

ascii is a rock, it goes fine, fine, fine.

No need to apologize.  smile  Some have upgraded without issues.  YMMV.

We are hoping that we will be able to catch up to the Debian release cycle by the time that Buster is stable.

I'm seeing this with a package search: [beowulf] kmail-17.12.3-1 not kmail 5.12

big thanks

You're very welcome!
