Here's another (better) script:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 40
sleep_period=4m
while true; do
###high="$(ps -eo %C --sort -%cpu | awk 'NR==2')"
if ps -eo %C --sort -%cpu | awk 'NR==2 { exit !($1>8); }'; then
xdotool key shift
fi
sleep ${sleep_period}
doneI gave up a long time ago trying to fix that screensaver problem. If you're binge watching something it is most annoying. This script works better than the other one. I think. Using it now.
Here's a script I use for just that:
#!/bin/sh
sleep 600
while true #runs forever
do
a=`cut -d ' ' -f 3 /proc/loadavg` #set a = load avg.
if [ $(echo "$a > 0.25" | bc) -ne 0 ]; then #If load avg. is less than .25
xdotool key F2 > /dev/null 2>&1
else #If it's greater than .25
sleep 600 #Wait ten minutes (600 seconds) and try again
fi
doneStart it at login. It requires Xdotool only. It needs some tweaking for your usecase. Load average might be different (or to taste)
Thanks! Most helpful!
You're the man!
Edit; BIOS --> Restore Settings --> Factory Reset
Do you have the kernel headers installed for kernel 6.12.90? They're needed too.
Looks nice! Thank you for the tip!

What M$ garbage!
hplip-3.25.8.run --debugWelcome! I was into PCLinuxOS too, before Devuan. (Linux since 1997 on and off)
It installs fine with dpkg -i .... and it shows the pictures correctly in /home/user/Pictures, or whatever I chose. But on my setup, Xfce, it doesn't actually change the desktop background. What am I missing? xwallpaper is installed.
Yeah, busy times this time of year! ![]()
How's it going? I haven't found the source on your sourceforge yet. ![]()
I'll compile and test it immediately!!! ![]()

For DAW I'd strongly recommend Reaper. I've used it for years and it's got an active forum with many Linux users. Lot's of "Reapack" addons and always updated. Runs very well on Devuan. My setup is Alsa only with JACK. https://www.reaper.fm/
There is also Ardour and others....
Tested and it looks nice! Thank you!

For Android I can recommend Newpipe (apk download) for Tube viewing. Sometimes *oogle blocks it but then there's a new update coming pretty soon.
I run Devuan on all my machines. No Systemd, ever. One machine is a multimedia/TV box with Pipewire. On is a DAW with only pure Alsa.
What happens when you buy a new car? You must personally tinker a bit with it to suit your needs, don't you? Adjust the mirrors, check the tire pressures, even RTFM on the glossy new screen in the center?
An interesting thread over at Antix forum:

It seems to be a really serious problem.
I've run a Linux PC on my TV's since 20 years and during this time Smart TV's have made their entrance . Since 7 years it's been only Devuan, of course. The UI on Smart TV's leave A LOT to be desired, I think. It's slow and cumbersome and eventually the TV can't be upgraded anymore.
My most recent example is a Samsung TV with relatively new software which very often lost contact with the net. You had to restart the TV all the time. And on top of that, the cumbersome UI.
A real Linux PC has many advantages; Easier configuration of the network (DNS in this case), easier to watch like Youtube without ads, if so inclined you can watch several shows, clips, videos at once. (Freedom). And play a game at the same time, and check your mail, and google stuff. And read the Devuan forum too.
With wireless keyboard and mouse, you can lay back in your couch and enjoy life.
And in this backwards world of ours, a TV without the "Smartness" would be more expensive than a TV with Smartness.
The one drawback, is that your mind might become even more fragmented.

World of Warships (Steam) and Warzone - Linux native. Plus some really old Battlefield Desert Combat and BF Vietnam in PlayOnLinux. All on Devuan of course!
Thanks for the tip about nodejs!
Yes, Deno is needed for YT-downloading. And now also exporting a YT cookie as well. More about the cookie export here:
