pkgmaster is the source for all the mirrors. If it is used in sources.list, it will put on an extra load and could slow down the frequent mirror updates
There is no US mirror and County Codes (CC) are currently deprecated in Devuan. Use the round-robin pool of repositories at “deb.devuan.org” via http not https. The Beowulf installer has corrected this confusion.
Thanks for the reply. I looked at Distrowatch which did not include Budgie as a desktop, but then again Distrowatch is hardly definitive.
I had never heard of budgie till your post and I've been working on Devuan since the fork.
I found two ISOs that look promising, netinst and minimal. Is the latter an Openbox installation? I'd prefer to not install a complex desktop I will never use. Openbox is just enough to get around.
Please reference the index page of the devuan.org website for a description of the various isos,
Also from the Devuan.org website:
Desktop Environments Default: Xfce
Alternate: Cinnamon, KDE, LXQt, MATE
Others: available post-install
Note that there is an openbox theme in the clearlooks-phenix-darkpurpy and -cinnabar to coordinate with the release's default color theme.
OMG! That is from 5 years ago when we were just starting to create the signature Devuan graphics. That thread was concluded elsewhere because it was getting too long to load properly. There is at least one other thread also specifically about desktop background. I have the link(s) if anyone is interested. All the currently relevant graphic-related stuff has been moved to here:
Budgie is not on the banned packages list and is in our repos.
You might consider that Devuan offers desktop images in these sizes to accommodate all screen sizes:
wide-large 2560 x 1600
wide-small 1280 x 800
narrow-large 2560 x 1920
narrow-small 1280 x 960
In Xfce Jessie the option is "anti-aliasing". I also use "slight" hinting and find it helps to use a semibold font like Open Sans.
Thanks. Good to know as I use pluma on Xfce.
Enough is enough. There is lack of self-control all the way around. Please consider adulthood as an option.

Free cynwulf
Free cynwulf from what? That was nearly 10 years ago over at FDN. He self-exiled himself from this forum where he is still an active member.
There are no moderators on this forum but there are several admins of which I am one.
Exactly which file is giving you a problem? Please post the git url. Those files open just fine here.
Hi basati,
Images are in our gitlab:

Post a photo of the T-shirt!
There is no "/" after merged in the Devuan documentation.
I'm genuinely curious as to why an optional added feature for an init system you don't even use elicits "blistering condemnation". It's quite bizarre.
pulseaudio also used to be "optional". 'nuf said.
Did you really have to post that nonsense?
@mmaglis . . . Thanks for taking the initiative to find that. I knew it existed and was going to suggest searching for it but thought better of it since I was not inclined to do so myself. IIUC (that's certainly not a given), all the packages are signed so should be secure even without https.
Removing it could bork desktoppy stuff
A better place for that discussion would probably be the devuan-dev mail list.
Plentyn . . . Why don't you make these packages available in git.devuan.org?
thanks for the info
I guess the part about CCs on https://devuan.org/os/etc/apt/sources.list is outdated and should be removed then
That page has been revised.
Called that page pointing to /etc/apt/sources.list with my up-to-date FF-ESR and Chromium, still get the hint to the country codes.
You are correct rolfie. Revisions are now in place at https://devuan.org/os/etc/apt/sources.list
These days, I am seriously doubting my mental competence and am hoping to pass on some of my responsibilities to the next generation sooner rather than later. Will post about that project separately. Hopefully some volunteers will step forward to take up the slack.
@golinux: the current page https://devuan.org/os/ is corrected now, as you said. I looked at his page a few days ago, and it still had the hint to the country codes.
There is a link to https://devuan.org/os/etc/apt/sources.list which still refers to country codes. I would patch that page too.
That section is a partial that is called on both pages. Last I looked, both pages were picking it up. Try refreshing the page if you're not seeing it.
