I would suggest upgrading to ascii. mixxx 2.0 appears to be in ascii repository.
Latest surf2 2.0-9 in devuan ascii repo has fixed zoom-in with ctrl+shift++
Thanks to KatolaZ. Fast work for a busy person.
Thanks fsr and geoff 42. My repositories were messed up. I now have the 3.2.2-9 version.
I am getting eudev 3.2.2-devuan2.7 with or without experimental enabled. working fine.
*and yes I was warned of downgrade. I had a 220 version number previously.
I use palemoon for my current browsing needs. Also I'm enjoying playing around with surf 0.7-2 (ascii repo) and surf2 2.0-5 (ascii experimental). Surf is using libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 and surf2 uses libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37.
I find that I cannot zoom-in on surf2 but can on surf.
I find I can play youtube videos on surf2 but not on surf.
If I can find a way to zoom-in on surf2 I would have both. Tried ctrl-shift-+ ctrl-shift-k ctrl+
I can zoom-out on either app using ctrl-
I would be interested in surf2 related info mostly or just opinions of surf2.
*****Just to update. I downloaded surf-2.0 from suckless.org. Also,tabbed-0.6. I compiled(new to compiling as I failed ,mostly, before).
The most helpful info for surf was found on steve litt's site. Troubleshooters.com His article Surf Demystified was very helpful.
My thanks to Steve. I'll be keeping palemoon and surf for now.
Cool. Treebeards approach worked.

This is old but may apply.
It was fun to try other browsers but Palemoon works very well for my use case. On Jessie or Ascii.
I believe I'll stick with Palemoon.
uzbl browser? uses webkit according to wikipedia. I installed it and was pretty confused but you might find it interesting.
After a little bit more effort...
This is interesting to play with. I can't get youtube videos to play on this or other webkit browser.Palemoon works for videos. Uzbl uses mostly keyboard but is configurable . If there is a fairly simple fix for video on webkit based browser on ascii-let me know. However I am a simple user not a coder so...
Many Thanks KatolaZ and dev1devs. seriously.
Devuan satisfies my computing needs and inspires creativity, learning and experimentation.
I appreciate it greatly!
https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=642 regarding the browser-scroll to greenjeans posts.
Works on jessie for me after installing python-webkit. Ascii I,m not finding that pkg yet.
Look forward to trying it further on jessie though.
I am optimistic. Stable was released in late May. Ascii soon to follow. Instant gratification is foolish to expect.
I suspect fud is at work here.
Is pulseaudio removed? Any of my sound problems were when pulseaudio was present,
Very much to the point of my issue. I do follow the mailing list- just a little after the fact in this case. I still wonder why it was not an immediate problem but took several reboots to show up.
* thanks for the link.
Playing with ascii/lxqt install and for my use it's pretty good. So I decided to install eudev and the install went smoothly using synaptic with experimental repo temporarily enabled. ON reboot all appeared normal. A few more reboots and wifi was not connecting.
Short story is address was no longer wlan0. Now wlxc83a35c261fd. (used ip list command someone helpful mentioned somewhere to get address) I don't know what does this or why it did'nt happen immediately on eudev install. Just thought I would share in case someone could enlighten me or be enlightened with the information.
On my test computer with devuan ascii I've been replacing Mate with lxqt de and ran across juffed text editor. I suspect it is not old since it is in ascii but not jessie.Anyway I find it much to my liking so far and mention here only as an option if you had not heard of it.
*probably only new to me.
Thought it would be good to keep a list of packages I usually have to install (and forget the names of) after a fresh installation of an os. Then I figured why not a script to install instead?
My pkginstall.sh
#!/bin/bash
#
#Install most likely desired packages.
#Run as root in terminal.
apt-get update && apt-get install firejail gtkorphan gdebi guvcview claws-mail-fancy-plugin dconf-editor pastebinit hexchat
exit 0Of course all my pkg choices can change as I (or anyone) chooses. This is pretty basic but someone might find it handy.
*Though most of these posts are way over my head I really like this thread and enjoy the info.TY
Be careful if you take a long time to write a post. Sometimes posts go 'missing' when it's time to post if you're not cookied with the 'stay logged in' option.
Probably good to know-mentioned by Golinux in a different post. Not sure if it applies here.
Made me grin. Does that count?
But then the bad math class memories flooded in! But that's the past. Laughing now. TY
If you install from one of the desktop-live isos, you should delete /etc/popularity-contest.conf before running the installer. That way, you will get a unique number and we get more meaningful statistics. To correct it after installing, delete the file and then run 'dpkg-reconfigure popularity-contest'.
I have no need for great paranoia so I re-enabled. Thanks for info (and instructions) people.
Can anyone speak of any security risks of enabling popcon? On stable mainly.
Thanks for the reminder. I just enabled popcon and hope the devuan vua's find the results helpful.
Excellent! Thank you very much. I feel more myself already.
