I'm at a loss, this is the first time I had trouble with an hp printer. It's an Officejet Pro 8025 and hplip isn't detecting it. I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?

I have some old Real Player files, and the icons looked like the first screenshot. The top one is a .rm file, and Caja gave it the movie icon, even though it is only an audio file. The rest of the files are .ram, and Caja gave them the text file icon. So I thought that if maybe I assigned these types of files to be opened by SMPlayer (they weren't assigned to any app) that Caja would figure out to give them the same icon as other audio files (second screenshot), but it didn't. So I manually changed the four files to the eighth notes icon. My question is this: is there a way to tell Caja to assign the eighth notes icon to .rm and .ram files automatically? If I copy these files to any other location, they end up with the icons in the first screenshot. Thanks.

Unplug and replug mouse and/or keyboard, then they'll work.
You might still have some problems after that, like no sound or no wireless, both due to kernel modules not getting loaded. All the problems go away if you stop and start eudev. (stop it and start it. restart won't fix it.)

Unplugging and replugging in the mouse and keyboard does fix that problem. But I couldn't get the sound to work. Maybe I didn't follow the instructions correctly? In any event, everything works just fine when loading the OS to RAM. So, as you wrote, I'm assuming I won't have these problems when I install the new Miyo.

Hi Miyo. Sorry took long to reply. I have a question due to issues I had trying to run the new Miyo from the DVD. I'm wondering if my computer is too old for Devuan 3 or anything based on it. Here's why. First, for some reason I just couldn't get the computer to boot to the DVD. I never had a problem like this with earlier versions, or with other Linux OS's. I had to go into the bios and tell the computer to manually boot from the DVD (I never had to do that before). Okay, second, when I chose Live Session, it would boot up, but my keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. I tried 3 times at least, and waited long enough, but they just wouldn't work. Finally I booted to RAM (or whatever it's called) and then everything worked just fine. I guess since that worked, installing the OS shouldn't cause a problem on my computer, but of course after all this I'm a bit hesitant. What do you guys think?

Tried that and got this:

I just recently moved across the US, from the Mountain Time Zone to the Central Time Zone. I changed the time zone in settings to Central Time, then changed the time to the correct time, but on every reboot the time keeps moving one hour behind. I am using the Mate desktop. Any ideas what I'm missing?

That doesn't seem to be an option in preferences. FTR I asked my friend to send me an email to my Yahoo address with some emojis, and Yahoo shows them just fine.

I have a friend who uses emojis in emails he sends me, but they don't show up on my computer. For example, I just got one today and instead of the emoji was this \uD83D\uDE42. I use Centurylink email mostly, so I forwarded this email to my Yahoo email, and again I got \uD83D\uDE42 instead of the emoji. I thought I may have needed to add a font, so without much to go on, I installed font-symbola, but that didn't help. If it matters my friend's emails are from Outlook. Any one got any ideas?

I noticed a problem with the middle image in the top link. The right side of the image is cut off. Weirdly, when I download it, it is less cut off, but still cut off.

In Synaptic, kvm is described as "QEMU Full virtualization on x86 hardware." My rig is 64 bit. Can I use kvm on it? Also, would a guest 64 bit OS work on it?
