And did you know that Debian (and by extension Devuan) is a communist distribution?
They even have some useful documentation in the official repositories:
https://pkginfo.devuan.org/cgi-bin/pack … ism=15.3-3
Time to reinstall...
So one package makes Debian communist? I think there might be more to it than that. Also did you know that there are anarchists with lots of different views, some are leftist leaning, some right leaning etc etc.. But granted there are a lot of communist weirdos out there who have attached themselves to various projects.
Australia and US are only "white" nations because of colonization of those who originated there so your entire argument is based on a THEFT and SUBJUGATION and GENOCIDE. IOW pure evil
I suggest all users of this forum read "The dev1galaxy.org (almost) No Code of Conduct".
Those who want to continue to spew nonsense, can move on and do it elsewhere . . .
Humans are an insanely destructive species and will get what they have earned . . .
And us whitey's should be forever blamed for the sins of jewish masters? Your history is incorrect.

Burn in hell you fucking racist cunt.
Is it racist though?
As a white person im regularly segregated from certain work applications based of my ethnicity, which could be they need a mandarin speaking person in a majority english speaking country and to add they even ask for asian people to apply. Another instance was that only aboriginal people can apply for a position.
Im inclined to agree with head on stick. PEBKAC for sure. I highly doubt said person has been successfully using linux for the past 15 years and think said person is shitposting.
Thanks for that info, seems to have gotten rid of the gtk3 title bars. Unfortunate that xfce4 has gone the way of the gtk3 csd title bars on some of the apps though, its all mismatched.
[completely off topic]
kyuss . . . I miss the 1970s! It's been all downhill since then . . .
I was a teenager in the 90's, i was not exposed to computers and smart communication as i am today, we relied on local telecom to contact eachother and that was usually a landline phone or a pay phone by the corner store. I just miss that life where facebook and social media was not a thing and we gathered together as a social group physically as friends and yet to be friends, no computers, no apps, no social conditioning etc. The smartphone imo has dumbed us all down. Not all but most.
Just installed the feb 2022 chimaera iso to a computer and everything working good except for one issue which i like to have available is the ability hide the firefox titlebar so i get a bit more screen real estate. I did the usual /customize firefox/ and click the checkbox titlebar. Any help much appreciated, i do notice also that gtk3 csd is not quite implemented on refracta, not sure how this done but the settings manager should be gtk3 csd look but is both xfce4 window and gtk3 csd?

The user can disable 3rd party certificates, yes. I've removed all manufacturer-supplied certificates from my machine and just use a single certificate I created.
Some devices (usually discrete GPUs) can require the official Microsoft certificate to be allowed for their pre-installed firmware but the hash can be read from the TPM chip and enrolled into the SecureBoot database. Or so I have read :-)
kyuss wrote:is the option in the bios to disable secure boot no longer available?
The seems to be present in the PDF to which I linked in the OP. So far.
Where can i read/learn about user created certificates, what would be the best source in your opinion?
But this can be disabled? So i have read. Is it a case of a certain threat model in regards to not having secure boot enabled? And is the option in the bios to disable secure boot no longer available?
As an option what about the system76 machines that come preloaded with pop os? I know they are systemd but that can be fixed once the machine is in hand surely?

I did notice intel-microcode through refractasnapshot was throwing an error as well but im not savvy enough to debug that so i removed the microcode. Anyhow thanks for confirming and all the best with your code updates.
Ive come across a strange error when using refractasnapshot. I installed a copy of chimaera by using the git version of devuan debootstrap from artix linux, so debootstrapped from a working copy of artix linux to another partition on the drive. I managed to figure out that for some reason initramfs-tools (update-initramfs) used lz4 in config file /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf making refracta throw "Decompression Error".
Easy fixed by changing initramfs.conf to gzip or xz, just thought id let it be known here, maybe the snapshot script needs updating and maybe lz4 is the standard compression being used by debian now in initramfs-tools instead of cpio or gzip?
I noticed in the refractasnapshot script from line 316 there is no mention of lz4 in extract_initrd.
In saying all that, maybe my case is a strange one and most installs get the initrd compressed using gzip or cpio?

Maybe it has something to do with his username "leonardom1967" as in "leon"
From one Leonard to Leonardo, would maybe be a good guess!
cheers
zephyr
Ah yes that might be a good guess! Leo is latin for Lion, Leo zodiac constellation.
Im interested in why you decided on the name for the distro Lion Linux, like i am with most distros i come across?
Anyhow good luck with the distro and could you point me to your sources, is it an open source distribution?, can we look at your code?
I couldnt think of a screen name to join here so used the name of the band KYUSS that i was listening to before joining.
This video shows cutting up ocean freighters or ocean cruise liners with blow torches, wild stuff.

Appreciate the info, thanks fsmithred and rolfie. I will give your idea a try fsmithred on a spare disk i have.
Rolfie i only have an old bios boot machine so uefi is a no go for me, thanks anyway.
imo, the best guitar instrumental album this side of the moon!

First, hello im new here, so hello first of all and devuan is a great systemd free fork of debian.
Ive recently installed devuan 4 on my drive and wanted to know if its possible to have an encrypted dual boot scenario as follows?
devuan 4 boot partition = /dev/sda1 (ext2)
devuan 4 root partition = /dev/sda2 (encrypted luks ext4)
other linux = /dev/sda3 (encrypted luks ext4)
Want i want if possible is to add a partition and install anther linux like say voidlinux and have it encrypted as well.
scheme layout would be like so,
devuan = /dev/sda1 - /dev/sda2
voidlinux = /dev/sda3
both /dev/sda2 and /dev/sda3 would be using just plain dm-crypt.
Can this be achieved via the grub boot loader or do i need to use some other method?
I know how to setup a plain dm-crypt archlinux installation so i have some knowledge, but cant find any info if this is possible what im asking here?
May the fork be with you!
