yt-dlp users should probably familiarize themselves with:
definitely return them
looked at this webpage briefly and it seems like it might have some value in your apple mac endeavours
https://lowendmac.com/2018/installing-linux-on-powerpc-macs/
mostly for future thread visitors, links for your consideration and convenience:
wikipedia:

circa 2010, Mark Greaves(rip):

https://peppermintos.com/2024/07/weve-partnered-with-foss-torrents/
fyi: included the below link and the above link mostly because the fosstorrents main webpage is cool, eye-candy, and a virtual cornucopia. enjoy with moderation as always!
https://fosstorrents.com/
download information:
https://peppermintos.com/download-and-install/
cautionary note: the above download webpage has direct links to immediate downloads(which you may/may-not be comfortable with, ymmv) so here is their sourceforge page without the automatic stuff. furthermore, what happens when one of these/those automatic downloads overflows and crashes the users hard-drive/machine/etc!?!
https://sourceforge.net/projects/peppermintos/files/isos/XFCE/
see also the screenshots and comments(especially Himanshu near the bottom/end of webpage):

epilogue: it is quite fitting that i have stumbled across this thread at this moment in time. i have currently been working with an octogenarian widow who desperately wants to be rid of the insanity of microsoft windows(and also smart televisions as well...but that is a totally different adventure/saga/story...oh, and don't forget the crazy voip phone, ugh). her current predicament is not for the faint-hearted or physically-feebled indeed. anywho, not quite the same situation as the screenshot webpage commenter mentioned above(Himanshu).
thank you for your precious time, dear reader/visitor.
edited to add: kicking the fosstorrent weeds and saw that they even have tribblix! outstanding!
https://fosstorrents.com/distributions/tribblix/
did a forum search for the word 'elogind' in the title/topic
(Index » Search » Topics with posts containing 'elogind')
and with this thread there are 26 threads with elogind in their title/topic
there are probably quite a few ideas, opinions, and thoughts in there somewhere
as always and everywhere, your mileage may vary.
^^^^@golinux, thanks for the reply! it was a bit unsettling to see that advisement/failure/notice/etc but glad you've got it sorted out!
interesting
individually asked my ex, daughter, grand-daughter, and great-grand-daughter similar ideas/thoughts...
all replied simply "there's an app for that"
smh(_shaking_my_head_)
furthermore, there are an ever increasing number of mostly younger human planetary inhabitants who see the only viable hope for "saving" the planet is to euthanize all the "excess load"...which is to say that the first to go will be all the older and/or infirm.
most won't admit it in public since it is still mostly "forbidden" talk, but privately they are just waiting for the "leaders" i.e. politicians to push it and they will vote for it.
all things must come to an end.

what does this mean:
Error: Could not connect to smtp host "email.devuan.org:25" (111) (Connection refused).
will review this webpage at some future time and ponder

@fredbird67, welcome to the forum Fred(and a friendly wave from the sad state of "very-ill-noises"...sigh)
i try to read all the new posts in an attempt to continue my education
and so i did a search and figured i might as well include it here for the future addicted autodidacts
https://start.duckduckgo.com/lite/?q=excalibur+kde+sddm+qemu+vm
also since i did it...
https://start.duckduckgo.com/lite/?q="sddm"
https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-customize-the-sddm-display-manager-on-linux
another intriguing thought occurred regarding vt handoffs since just yesterday i was reviewing grub entries on a dual boot machine with windows eleven and xubuntu 24.04.3 and saw something similar(that i don't believe i had ever witnessed before iirc)...anywho, enjoy!
more since i just experienced it(again, ha!)...
i get significantly different search results by using/not-using quotation-marks(double quote marks actually as seen above with "sddm") as well as searching with/without browser add-ons such as noscript, privacy badger, ublock origin, etc. activated(just thought i would add that as it seems to be relevant to the encouragement of others regarding current-day internet searches/searching/etc), as always - ymmv.
adding a link mostly for future thread visitors:
https://www.howtogeek.com/6169/use-truecrypt-to-secure-your-data/
yes the link says "truecrypt" but the how-to says "veracrypt" ... who knows why? ymmv.
re: setting passwords/permissions/sudoers/etc
humble fyi: see man vipw, vigr, and visudo
the fine folks over at Tiny Core Linux Forum are also talking about 32-bit Firefox:
https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,27784.0.html
(fyi, nevertheless the OP OT issue regarding cpu not supporting SSE3 is probably a non-starter)
quick casual ddg-lite search for "luks2 grow partition" gave multiple results.
here is a random one:

ai/llvm/bot traffic, ftw...
it is what it is...sigh...
ditto on the request for future updates
found a few articles/commentaries/guides/etc but haven't read them yet:
(providing them here for the convenience of all)
@EchedeyLR, how is your VisionFive2 experimentation progressing?
whenever i see designations like that(n100) i recollect the old atom n270 stuff:
