Updated software (previous iso was made last May)
Replaced lxpolkit with mate-polkit to fix issue with synaptic and gparted not starting from menu.

There is an xfce-polkit package.
If you work systematically, things will come by itself (Lev D. Landau)

When I tried xfce-polkit a few months ago, it didn't fix the problem, but I just tried it again in a live iso and it now works. Thanks for the reminder.
