[SOLVED] Exe GNU/Linux live user name and login?

Trying to test Exe GNU/Linux, but I can't get past the cli login. Shouldn't it boot into a graphical environment, and why can't I find any information about user name and password? Trying to use exegnu64_daedalus-20231220

I'm 99.9% sure that login:password is user:user and root:root and that it should boot to a desktop without logging in.

Re: [SOLVED] Exe GNU/Linux live user name and login?

Thanks for the reply. I found that I am able to get to the Trinity desktop by choosing “nomodeset” in GRUB. There appears to be a problem using my Nvidia graphics card. All I can get is what looks like an 800x600 resolution. The card on my computer is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER.

Maybe also add set gfxpayload=1280x1024 to the boot command. (or use your favorite resolution)

Re: [SOLVED] Exe GNU/Linux live user name and login?

Driver for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 is supported by Debian 12 (Bookworm).
https://debian.pkgs.org/12/debian-nonfr … 4.deb.html

Edit. A link to the Debian repository is not needed.

Re: [SOLVED] Exe GNU/Linux live user name and login?

I think adding a debian repo without pinning it to a low priority is asking for trouble. You bypass amprolla which filters out systemd. It's also unnecessary because the same package is available through devuan repos in the non-free section.

$ apt policy nvidia-driver
nvidia-driver:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 525.147.05-7~deb12u1
  Version table:
     535.161.08-2~deb12u1 100
        100 http://pkgmaster.devuan.org/merged daedalus-proposed-updates/non-free amd64 Packages
     525.147.05-7~deb12u1 500
        500 http://deb.devuan.org/merged daedalus-updates/non-free amd64 Packages
     525.147.05-4~deb12u1 500
        500 http://deb.devuan.org/merged daedalus/non-free amd64 Packages

Note: I have proposed-updates pinned to low priority (100) and that's why the newest version isn't shown as the Candidate.

Yes, you are right, you need to install the package from the Devuan repository.
