I would, but I don't see a place on the FAQ that allows for conversation. There are no active links visible in my browser (although the page suggests that there are).

@demonic . . . all links in the first post of this thread and elsewhere on this forum are "live". If there is something that you think requires extensive "conversation", You can start a new thread in the appropriate section (probably not Announcements). If you just want to comment, drop it here. If it turns into a "thing" I can split off to a separate thread. Keep in mind that this is a forum not a wiki. Users may post documentation but it is ephemeral and will likely become outdated in time.

https://www.devuan.org/os/partners/ways-to-help has a link (You can seed our Release Torrents) that is 404
https://www.devuan.org/os/contact doesn't have the usual "Webmaster" link, so if anyone from the project reads this, maybe they can fix it

@user . . . thanks for the suggestions. beta.devuan.org is the updated site that will be released with Beowulf 3.0.0. So that is the site you should be proofing for errors and/or using if you are testing Beowulf.

That page no longer exists on the beta site. It has been replaced with a link to this page on the dev1galaxy forum.

That's an interesting suggestion but perhaps not necessary as the web source is in devuan's git and anyone can open an issue there. Devuan's irc channels #devuan-www and #devuan-dev are also good places to catch someone.

Somehow I still miss, if donations for devuan are non-profit donations, which are accountable as costs inside a company.
But since donations go to a non-proft organisation (dyne.org), it should be possible to get the according receipt?

can I just ask a question regarding how I can help?
I have to admit, I'm not a rich man by any means (comparable to my own culture - the UK)
and I'm not exactly what you'd call a programmer.
So I dont feel able to donate money or contribute to any code,
but I do love certain things and am good at them,
for example I like making digital art and backgrounds and logo's and that kind of thing.
Also I am good at helping people figure out problems with computers and networks
I'm just wondering if any of that is considered a conribution?
For example, I know other distro's hold (kind of) competitions before each new release for people
to submit ideas for art works that will be included in the new edition of the distro

Hi friends. I can help with translation into Russian / Belarusian languages.

That would help in the forums, (like I do when I can), & just promoting the distro is also of value, we aren't all coders.

Well, regarding that wish list...
Donate an ARM development board (50$-100$) (contact parazyd parazyd@dyne.org / #devuan-arm)
Donate PowerPC/Sparc hardware for build/development (contact devs on #devuan-dev)
... as per the ARM board, there was a wire transfer (€50) recently, dedicated to the ARM team...
... regarding to the Sparc hardware, I have a spare Sun Blade 150 with a 650-MHz UltraSPARC IIi and 2GB of memory, currently located in Germany ... if there's interest, let me know.

I can maybe help out with some artwork/theming for excalibur, I know my way around inkscape a little bit.
In regards to this post golinux https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=51546#p51546
Here is a few wallpaper only mockups for excalibur in different colors. I just exported them into pngs from inkscape.

Good.
Development like that would happen in git.devuan.org/devuan/documentation with normal fork+change+merge activity.
Thus, 1) register there; 2) fork the project, 3) start a branch.. perhaps named wip/excalibur (but naming could well be discussed); 4) edit; 5) make merge requests to the source project.

just remember, not everyone went to Woodstock specifically for the mud, nevertheless it was there for all to bathe in.

@soren . . . please see my response in OT. All the color palettes for devuan theming are related to the release name in some way. Not random colors (or lack thereof). IRC is a good place for discussion . . .

thanks ralph, golinux. I will get things organized over the next few days. In regards to color pallete, i dont want to debate that and will be happy to stick with what you have already for Excalibur. Ill be in touch asap.

@soren . . . looking forward to seeing what you can do with the rather rough mock up. I have another one here that is a little brighter but then I can discern one increment difference in a hex. I can add it to git or email to you. Also note that the image needs to be viewed and worked on full screen. Any other colors touching it will distort things because it is very subtle. And a request . . . please never use #FFFFFF or #000000. Always add just a bit of the primary color so the elements blend instead of becoming visual "dead zones". Feel free to contact me on irc or through the forum mailer. Thanks again for stepping up to give it a try!
