And spelling it wrong in places too: DeVaun
A note from Parrot OS:
we are not based on devuan yet, and the rolling branch is still based on debian testing
meanwhile we have an experimental lts branch that tracks devuan, and we plan to release a lts version of parrot (5.0) for both x86 and arm architectures, and keep it aside to the rolling edition that will remain the same as now (but amd64 only)
the eta is "when it's ready"
This point release includes all updates since the 2.0.0 release.
"Reputation systems" are just mob click-bait. Really beneath the quality of users that populate this forum.
That would best be discussed on #devuan-arm where the arm devs hang out.
Dear dev1ers . . .
The Devuan ASCII 2.1 point release has begun. The installer isos,
desktop-live and minimal-live isos are currently available for
download here:
http://files.devuan.org/devuan_ascii/
Other images will be uploaded as they are ready.- The option to choose openrc is more prominent and no longer requires
an Expert install. You can't miss it.- If you would like to select an alternate bootloader (lilo) or
exclude non-free firmware, you must select one of the Expert install
options.- The recommended default mirror is now deb.devuan.org. If you would
like to use a country code mirror, please check
https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/mirror_list.txt to see if there is one
suitable for your needs. There is more information in the Release Notes:

Once the point release is completed, we can focus on putting final touches on Beowulf.

apt-cacher-ng@msi . . . Long time, no see. So are you still playing with Adelie or running Devuan again?
Just be thankful that kdbus hasn't made it into the kernel.

Why is there a systemd folder?

Sorry I can't answer the installer questions . . .
It wouldn't be in devuan-packages because we pull it directly from Debian unaltered. It most certainly can be accessed through the Devuan repos.
Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians
Live version shows visual relationship of the musicians but has technical "warts" here and there.
Just surrender and swim in it.
this doesn't answer my question but I guess thank you?
I read the info, i selected the cd rom set, the install never asked for the second nor third iso cdrom.
The installer would probably ask for the second or third iso if the selections you made required packages from them.
Please read the ISO guide on the index page of the Devuan website that will help you to choose the iso that best suits your needs.
No. We are currently trying to put out a point release with current upgrades. Hopefully won't take too long. The point release will be announced here and on all other communication channels.
mknoop wrote:If Debian should go systemd init only, will the Devuan development team be able to handle the added work of providing a systemd-free OS still based on Debian?
The elogind package which is the source of the linked problem was originally packaged up by Devuan and is also used by Gentoo so it should continue to work even if Debian drop it.
IIRC, Devuan got elongind from gentoo. gentoo didn't get it from us. Maybe I'm misreading . . .
You already mixed Debian testing (Bullseye) with Devuan testing (Beowulf which is based on Buster). And with Ceres in the mix you're pulling from 3 Debian-based repositories . . . 4 if you include antix.
Faster if you help to make it happen. ![]()
The aim of SystemD is RedHat ecosystem. Everything which is not RH-based thing is under attack because SystemD is open source proprietary software (OSPS).
And a new acronym is born! OSPS is brilliant!!
Happy to hear that worked for you!
There has to be an easier way . . .
"chromium field-trial testing" processes can bring chromium to it's knees. It's been on my list for months (maybe closer to a year) to investigate further. I found a treasure trove of information in WTF, Chromium?. In that rant, there is a link to List of Chromium Command Line Switches. Great, that looks useful and even contains one to #disable-field-trial-config. Problem is, I haven't a clue how to get from point A to point B so hoping someone here can lead me through the fog. Thanks.
I believe an "expert" install is required to see that option.
Actually, I was not speaking about light on resources but unobtrusive visually.
That's one honkin' humongous popup! This is not in any way to suggest you change a thing. I was just messin' with you a bit . . .
It's a brilliant execution of a function that many will find useful.
