Hello,

I changed the time zone with tzdata and the config works under blackbox.

However under KDE, there is differnet time. it takes london visiblty.

what to do ? settings of kde does not change it.

It is rather better to do it by hand.

After a clean debootstrap, just run: apt-get install rox-filer feh scrot xinit wdm blackbox

you have your desktop wink

However, kde is fast, and reliable. It is easy to use for a whole family.

really kde is the best desktop, which can go far better than windows ms desktop !

I see as the picture shows no way to let MS Exchnage calendar be with korganizer, in 2018, after about 20 years of debian there... . I believe, is that right?

Next to retropie, so far for education purpose (at under graduate level) there is :

It would be nice that there is more distributions for the pi, especially for education, programming, tuxmath,... and more.
(without X11 because it is resource consuming,..).

yeah hl1 ep1 for windows, it was a cool hit at that time. maybe about 1997 something.

Halflife 2 can be played native under Linux, but what about HL 1 (halflife 1).  (Free Project with source)

It works well under Wine but well, native would be awesome.

Would you eventually heard of anything in this direction?

Hello,

I have installed quake using darkplaces, and it runs quite slow. On raspbian, it is compiled to run on SDL.

Would you maybe have any workaround to make RPI play this old good game again?

(edit : using SDL without opengl, for ugly fast graphics, like old DOS time would be best choice)

ACER aspire ES15 with ES1-531-C6F1   works well , wifi, hardware,... with devuan. hardware supported with ascii devuan. All works after base min installation.

Would you know if there is an installer for K6-2 - 64 MB RAM - 4.3 GB HDD?
(goal is bare console use, and likely prboom on SDL).

A live would be too nice for testing before installation (long, on such low spec hardware).

I dont know so much what happened. I tried few days ago, and today, all went fine.

Maybe someone changed the Package.gz. I likely have a backup of it still, but I dont know where it still.
I made a mirror of the Packages of stable on a disk.

fixbroken is dangerous because it leaves error.
Usually, when it is a such a big issue, I move the machine to FreeBSD, it is much more stable (and without the systemd).
Man, debian goes to such amazing direction... sad

FIXED !!!

1) get devuan from a mirror :
08aef5aa1ba1b6db90aa2dd3c22e0415  devuan_ascii_2.0.0_i386_netinst.iso

2) bring the non-systemd debian on the pen:
dd if=devuan_ascii_2.0.0_i386_netinst.iso of=/dev/sdb

3) boot, press ESC and select install (non graphical mode):
  then regular, select EN language, ... and get the prompt wpa/wifi
  done,
  then select to  belgium: be: deb http://be.deb.devuan.org/merged ascii main non-free contrib

(same with us and germany)

4) delete the all harddisk with automatic fdisk/part stuffs

5) install the minimal installation
\[*\] lowest one for standard
  remove all x11 kde, gnome,... and remove print server with [ ].

6) done, grub installed, completed

7) reboot the i386 notebook and wait... tty login

8) root
    my pass

9) bring wifi/wpa and make a quick check with ip addr.

10) apt-get update

11) apt-get install sshfs

IT NOW WORKS !! FIXED (at least on be repository).

Leafpad has several bugs still. I won't be fixed fast since it is there since years.

I use FLEDIT. it works greatly and has a good char/utf/... support.

Hello,

I would like to notice that SSHFS cannot be installed for Stable and ASCII. I tried Jessie too, but it has the same issue.

All mirrors are same: us, de, fr and sp tested.
Tested with i386, netinstall, and the CD1.

I would need sshfs and a fix for it.

Hello,

I have installed DEVUAN ASCII, then I did plug an USB audio/video. I did plug all video/audio cables to the usb pc video device.
(device logilink vg0001A)

It works flawlessly to view only with:

 mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video1

Next step, I would like to record video/audio with LINUX DEVUAN. However, I noticed that those aren't available the following into the repositories:

ffmpeg, avconv and mencoder aren't in the source list.

What to do under DEVUAN to record video+audio?

I am looking forward to reading you. The fifa wold cup already began!!  SPAIN WILL WIN THIS YEAR, I would bet !!

My desktop is blackbox with alsa for the sound. Just simple desktop.

Hello,

bug of "LLVM ERROR: Cannot select: intrinsic %llvm.x86.sse41.pblendvb"
it is common on Intel Stable Jessie Devuan and Debian.
I can prove that it has nothing to do with the kernel, but jut jessie

Once I had the Intel bug of "LLVM ERROR: Cannot select: intrinsic %llvm.x86.sse41.pblendvb",
and I did edited the /etc/... something and I could make it work.

apt-get install  libgl1-mesa-swx11 and edit something....

What it was? What could have I done to fix the bug?

Pitty getting old, and not remembering cool things sometimes.

Hello,

there is Prboom not compatible between Jessie and Ascii releases.

There is prboom into jessie, but not prboom into ascii.
There is prboom-plus into ascii but not prboom-plus into jessie.

Both aren't compatible using -net netplay.

So would it be possible that someone compile Prboom for ascii and leave it a deb into the repository so that it is possible to play.

I was looking for Orpie, when I found that it won't be anywhere.

Curious, is that there aren't much calculator that work on the terminal, with bc or dc to be the most used. But other alt?

would you know some very portable calculator into devuan, or some that can be compiled easily?
