The colors are dark and calming and easy on the eyes, i've done a ton of research into color theory (I used to own a small custom paint contracting business), and I chose the colors for Vuu-do to be easy on the eyes and on the brain as well.

Interesting, thanks. Agree. When looking long time to dislays, eyes tired, and need care using low brightness, yellow filters, dark ui themes, etc. But personally for me too dark icons is bit depressive:), so i am prefer deafult Adwaita icons and dark clolor schemes ar Ark themes.

The skulls and the font for wallpaper (Zombified) are just pure whimsy based on the pronunciation of Vuu-do.

You are musician? I am interested many music styles:) But hardmetal and similar genres is not tootally understood for mine. I am prefer music depending of my current mood. I am from Millennials generation. So from metal genres i like industrial.

Miyolinux that I tried and based Vuu-do on, also had dark wallpaper and colors. The current Vuu-do wallpaper in fact was originally Miyo wallpaper that I modded, and that's why I still use it, as it has historical and sentimental value to me.

I see that Miyo development is stoped? Why?

ps Why did you choose exactly Devuan and Mate not Xfce? What olthers distros do you like? What you can say about Slackware?

Hello:)
Yes, i run yor distro in live mode, so i use nouveau, its working good.
But there's two still working drivers sources patched for my legacy gpu.
1. Debian Sid(only) is still patching Nvidia 340.108 driver
2. https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/ … dia-guide/
Both variants working for me i am tested both at Devuan5(did trick with pinning Ceres repo for get driver)

I have noticed in testing, that the Excalibur-based stuff seems very snappy and quick compared to current, really looking forward to seeing how it all performs once declared stable. I think Mate itself has made some improvements too.

Thanks for explain its interesting. And why when unstable/testing go to stable, why all at stable become not so snappy as in unstable/testing?

One quick tip: The Mate menu is usually the first thing to feel sluggish, Mate does cache icon images, but for some reason still tries to re-size SVG's every time you open the menu, so if you have any large ones being used for menu icons for certain programs, it gets glitchy.

I did not know that. Here question - why devs make icons so fat, no minimalism, kiss and unix way law?

More new hardware and in this case (and depending on the type/quality of the UPS), a potential source of problems.
eg: while your PSU in you desktop may play nicely with your AC line, smoothing out micro-spikes or simply ignoring them, your new UPS may not be doing the same thing or even be reacting badly.

A good/decent UPS has always been hard to come by ($$$).
Many years ago I ended up deciding that it was much better to go without one that to end up spending more money on a (nother) UPS which could cause problems.

Its wise thoughts but i do not think that UPS is source of problems.

After reboot "empty /var/log/*" folder problem solved - now all content of /var/log/* is at its usual place. OS fully functional. But again, what was that?

but today /var/log/ its all empty
And i cant update os. But disk is not full.

It happens once. And i just want check what could have caused this reboot.
Its my OldGoodDeskTop, i am very care about him)
Temperatures are normal - room(~20C), cpu(43C), gpu(45C). PC tower-case have good air flow.
Devuan installed at new ssd drive.
Also i use new UPS.
Maybe its PSU issue?
I am do not remember correctly(its was late night) before reboot i am input several times under root user this command:
file -sk /dev/*

Start by checking the last (previous) dmesg output for any warnings.
ie: /var/log/dmesg.0 file

Hi i am test some Darkness, feels snappy at my old PC, thanks.
Have few questions:
1. Konqueror have bit issue with authorization, launch via sudo. Solved - xhost +
2. Konqueror - mount ntfs partitions error Error: TDE mediamanager is not running - Solved - dcop kded kded loadModule mediamanager
3. Konqueror - mounted ntfs partition do not show correctly cyrillic names - not solved for me.

It won't matter if on both systems the users have the same numeric UID and GID. But it will make a difference if the users have different UIDs or GIDs. Check /etc/passwd on both systems to see what is likely to happen.
Eg if chris has UID 1000 on the source system and UID 1001 on the target you don't want to use --numeric-ids.
But if the names differ but have the same UID (eg chris is UID 1000 on source and fred is UID 1000 on the target (chris doesn't exist on it)) --numeric-ids would leave everything owned by fred.
I hope that's enough to let you understand what difference it would make.

and what happens if i use --numeric-ids, but with same user names?
at cloned disk, at /etc/group, /etc/passwd my user have 1000:1001 is it correct?
