Hello.
Thank you for your work! How about iso, based of Devuan 5 (stable)?
Offline
Well, there are lots of "stable" remixes, but not a lot of "testing", e.g. "exegnulinux" is stable + TDE - so no need for another stable remix

Thanks for the reply.
Personally, I don't think using testig in production env is a good idea, so I'll refrain from testing your iso. Have a good day.

As the name says: "testing" is for testing. If don't want to test, then don't.

I have just now downloaded and tested in RAM your ISO.
I think it's an excellent piece of work !
I really hope you carry on with it
The reason I tested in RAM is that it was << sort of >> confusing to install. Too technical for a beginner ( to understand ) and for an old fart like me ( 80 Years ) .
Or maybe just a bad day ? ? ?
However, special thanks for using Pulseaudio and keeping pipewire out of the installation-iso
The reason for saying so, is that PW makes each and every distro/DE on distrowatch crackle like hell when playing Midi-files. I tested 18 of them already for this issue
Please keep PA in the iso and PW in the repositories
Right now the sound is 127% Cristal-clear and distortion-free with Timidity
Will try install again soon
Hope to see more soon
Bye !

FWIW, pipewire works just fine with fluidsynth (via ALSA sequencer port) here, and on every distro I've used that packages those.
Timidity OTOH, AFAICT has been pretty much a zombie project since 2004.
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Four times is Official GNOME Policy.

I managed to install it on HD.
I have updated and installed a few dozen appz.
Everything seems to work very well and sound is perfect.

My experience is, on my hardware, timidity always works perfect--> if no PW is installed of course . If installed, it distorts Midi on Timidity
For testing, I use < Pianobooster > as this is the most sensitive app I know !
Midi files crackle on each and every distro that comes with PW inside the ISO
Removing PW does not solve the problem as the damage is done already to other parts of the setup
I tried more than 20 distros ( tde and cinnamon ) already....all same
There are of course a few PW-libraries which don't do damage
As I said, your TDE on my hardware , so far works perfect
I will keep on testing for a week .
Thanks

Thank you for testing. Refractainstaller is a bit tricky, but I did not find anything better yet so I stick with it
TDE14.2 (which I use) is the dev branche of TDE. Upgrades are usalluay very smooth without surprises.
