JohnDeere630 is the owner/admin at DUF.org - I think you know as well as I do, that he's someone to depend on (having saved the mummified remains of the site from it's demise twice over).
I can't speak for him, but as one of the admins there I can pose the question if needed.
Maybe we/you could start a thread there? That way we could all pipe in with suggestions. If that doesn't suit, yes, could you please pm JohnDeere630. Whatever you think is best. But let's wait to see what fsr has to say about the idea first.

I'm sorry to hear it's come to this, it's a pity you didn't have a section at DUF.org, I'd have welcomed you there, as would the current admin (and previous admins).
Hindsight is 20/20.
Sadly these "free" forum sites tend to hold the users to ransom. Much the same in the old days with ezboard - it was impossible to migrate elsewhere, they got you on the hook and wanted you to pay...
It's not the monetary cost that is the problem in this case because I'm sure that could be covered. It's the 'terms' and UI that are unacceptable. It would have been nice if freeforums had given admins a heads up to get out of there before the takeover. Perhaps DUF could still find a place for fsr to rebuild some essential posts and start anew . . .

I double checked and my UN and PW are the same ones I've had forever. Maybe you can see things because you're the admin?
@vecna . . . what nick are you using on irc? I'm not seeing you there under your forum nick. And as fsmithred suggested, stay logged in!
Can you get to freenode #devuan-dev?
@vecna . . . we currently need testing of ascii upgrade paths in various permutations. Perhaps you'd want to play with that a bit and post your results?
Devuan/Jessie --> Devuan/Ascii
Devuan/Jessie --> Devuan/Ascii with eudev
Debian/Jessie --> Devuan/Ascii
Debian/Jessie --> Devuan/Jessie --> Devuan/Ascii
Debian/Stretch --> Devuan/Ascii
Welcome, vecna. Your story is a familiar one. We tried to turn the tide but failed within Debian. Now we rise up here. As to packaging . . . you might want to have a look at this. And please, do come find us on freenode #devuan..
Enough is enough.
From the source:
<parazyd> armel
<parazyd> pi1
More questions? Try freednode #devuan-arm
You might also ask on the DNG mail list. Or on freenode #devuan
Very cool Miyo.
1) Replacing udev with eudev: https://github.com/gentoo/eudev https://gitlab.com/trios-linux
Eudev will help to distance Devuan further from udev and thus systemd. It is stable, actively developed, and accommodating. Barry K. of Puppy Linux has received help firsthand from presumably their lead developer, blueness (i.e., https://github.com/gentoo/eudev/issues/60)
I've used TRIOS Linux and it was one of the best out of the box experience for my Dell Latitude D630 hardware. They're software has stagnated for about a couple years, yet they're still active on the Serbian forums. They were recently removed from the Without-Systemd wiki due to inactivity. The reason I bring this up is because they compiled and configured eudev for the Debian system which I failed to do after an attempt on AntiX yesterday. I'm unsure whether this already compiled eudev can be employed in Devuan's future or not. The main difference is TRIOS uses openRC whereas Devuan uses SysVinit. Perhaps eudev will be adopted simultaneously with openRC.
eudev is already available for testing on ascii and will likely be included in the ascii stable release. There is plenty of discussion about this on the ML, irc and forum.
Note there is no DNZ list. Corrected to DNG above. And here is the reference.

Then, I suggest, you use it!
I do every day, thank you. We are just reading from different scripts. Let's just agree to disagree.
I'm going to split those related posts to another thread.
Clean those rational arguments, stow them away in the armory, then come help us build Devuan!
Amen to that.
Well before you start piling on with any further chastisement... the OP was apparently issued with a 1 week ban on 08/10/17.

If those were the terms, then this should have expired, but as yet they haven't returned.
It was removed exactly one week later. But if the bad mouthing continues will be reinstated.
Ah the great authority of the internet. Not impressed. I had this knowledge deeply embedded in my brain by the time I was 10. Back then peeps actually knew what they were talking about and teaching

How can you go over to Vuu-do if it's 'demised'? Of course it isn't and we all know that but that phrase doesn't.

Depends how you read it, there's a comma in there that separates the '& Vuu-Do' from the demised #1, & relates to the original statement about AntiX.
But, I suppose I could have put a semi colon instead.
That would still be a little murky. Might have been better to say something like:
. . . since the demise of #! (Crunchbang) & the arrival (or whatever) of Vuu-Do
Never, ever leave an ambiguity . . .
You can tell it's a slow day . . . LOL!
If anyone has missed the video you should give it 2' of your time https://sysdfree.wordpress.com/113/
A golden oldie.

I thought it was already fixed
@macondo . . . even though this is the Off-topic forum, repeatedly spamming it with youtube videos is a bit much. Just sayin'
That's great news!!
Thanks for the update!
