i used DDG to search the terms "force pihole usage"(quotation marks only for forum post clarity, didn't use them for the search)
there were multiple pages of results given the popularity of raspberry pi units these days(not to mention trying to stop all the ads/beacons/click-bait/cookies/iframes/javascript/pop-ups/redirects/super-cookies/third-party-cookies/trackers/zomg-and now all the AI generated garbage as well)
here is one that might be helpful even if more as an overview:
https://labzilla.io/blog/force-dns-pihole
and just for additional amusement: zomg
https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/4075/what-is-the-origin-of-zomg
bonus: don't forget that some/most? browsers cache dns as well...sigh... _neverending_whackamole_
yes, OP reported having firefox set to remove history when closed/shutdown/terminated and then had an occurrence where when starting firefox they were returned to the webpage they were at when firefox was previously closed/shutdown/terminated.
and further reported that it only happened once and/or infrequently.
a guess would be that firefox somehow failed to shutdown completely/gracefully/etc or that it somehow was still _running_in_the_background_ unknown to the OP.
and since we are now at firefox 128.4.0esr, hopefully it won't happen again.
did a DDG search for: best linux for "library" administration
here are the links that seem to be what we are looking for:
https://www.linuxlinks.com/LibraryManagementSystems/
https://itsfoss.com/open-source-library-management-software/
https://medevel.com/library-management-systems-lims-1716/
https://linuxopsys.com/open-source-library-management-software

please keep us posted on your progress and also if you need anything!
slightly off-topic but for future readers/visitors to this thread(who searched for "libreoffice" for whatever reason) and with respect to pdf documents/files, this webpage was interesting/thought-provoking:
https://exactcode.com/recompress/
and if you poke around there you will probably also eventually find yourself somewhere in the T2-SDE website:
full disclosure: no affiliation/association with any referenced, just humble friendly sharing. Excellent! Party On!
for some background on unix50.org and sdf.org:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDF_Public_Access_Unix_System
and if you enjoy that sort of thing, you'll probably enjoy floodgap.com as well:
(the entire website is packed with content and links so if you are easily distracted you have been forewarned)

reportbug 12.0.0+devuan2@ofvergara, thank you for taking the time to report your final disposition.

@rolfie, indeed there is a failure of Ventoy as of at least the version we recently obtained.
(sha1 checksum 30bdd6023d81ea09ec5b19f5924ec92c56f96538 ventoy-1.0.99-linux.tar.gz)
more for future visitors: note, the above referenced "broken" version of Ventoy did work for a temporary installation of windows 11 as per our previous post in this thread. (but did not work for a variety of other operating systems)
as always, your mileage may vary, but good luck in any case.

this post(from within one of the earlier mentioned threads) describes a file taking 8 minutes to load initially.

did a DDG search for "libre office" calc maximum file size and looked at a few.
https://superuser.com/questions/1560674/the-maximum-number-of-columns-per-sheet-was-exceeded
https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/libre-calc-exceeding-limit-4175533609/
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=341762
did an additional DDG search for "libre office" writer maximum file size
don't know how "writer" differs from "calc" in LibreOffice, not to mention all the other variables with version(s) number(s) as well as dependencies and such(can be a deep hole excavating to find the bug and/or limitations).
while the change may ultimately be organizationally beneficial, it is still part and parcel of the "conformed_uniformity" drive by the microsoft/systemd/eee cheerleaders whose endgame is to consolidate and consume all the poor misguided *nix/*bsd/*etc stepchildren.

enjoyed this informative tailscale webpage(even if it is somewhat off-topic):

https://tailscale.com/blog/sisyphean-dns-client-linux
searched the forum for "compile kernel"(topic subject only) and this was the only direct hit:

searching the same with "message text and topic subject" selected offers 4 pages of results.
mostly for the convenience of future visitors to this thread:

also should probably quote it regarding size/space requirements:
If your system uses techniques like Secure Boot, prepare it to permit starting self-compiled Linux kernels; install compilers and everything else needed for building Linux; make sure to have 12 Gigabyte free space in your home directory.

it is sad though, that after thousands of years, and now with everyone potentially connected intimately via the world wide web, the pogroms continue globally, unabated. shameful really. how long before this type of activity comes to bear upon the thousands of global open-source FOSS projects?
