#1 Re: Other Issues » [SOLVED] Devuan 5 Installation without Grub » 2024-02-01 22:29:10

I was able to solve it, I used Super Grub Disk to access Devuan 5 and then install Grub.
Thanks to Stargate for the tip.
I'm not an experienced user, so I choose to use Super Grub Disk.

I forgot to say that the computer on which Devuan 5 was installed does not have UEFI.

Hello!

I installed Devuan 5 desktop-live version, during installation I didn't install Grub.
In the Install bootloader part, mistakenly choose Continue.
So Grub wasn't installed. How do I install Grub after installation?

#5 Re: Hardware & System Configuration » [SOLVED] Devuan 4 in Brazilian Portuguese » 2023-01-29 20:46:53

I was able to configure Devuan in Brazilian Portuguese.
I did the following procedures:

If Local PT_BR.UTF-8 does not appear on the list, you will have to install.
# locale-gen pt_BR.UTF-8

Enter the dpkg-reconfigure to reconfigure packages after they are already installed.
# dpkg-reconfigure locales

Updates the default language.
# update-locale LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8

Consult the defined value in LANG.
# cat /etc/default/locale
LANG=pt_BR.utf8

I hope it helps other users.

Hi!
I installed Devuan 4 by minimal-live Iso and has a LXDE environment.
Some programs continue in English.
In the installation in Generate additional locales I chose pt_BR UTF-8.
How to leave Devuan in Brazilian Portuguese?
Greetings!

installed Crowz 4 JWM on an old computer with AMD Sempron 3000 processor, 2 Gb memory.
Crowz is very light, working very well, congratulations on the work.

Greetings!

Hi.
Is Pale Moon in Devuan repositories?

No, but there are some third-party repositories you can try, such as this one. Just match the codename to your current distro. You can also just download the official binaries from Pale Moon (they come with builtin update managers, so no need to worry about being behind a version).

Thanks for the tips, I will download the package binaries and install.

I've used Pale Moon before on MX Linux and it's already in the repositories.
Pale Moon is a good alternative to old computers and notebooks.
