Building Devuan communities

Inquiries about building local Devuan communities have recently popped up. That's a great way to support the Devuan project! To help you along, we've put together a few tips and suggestions to get you started:

1. Please use these official Devuan images. (Keep in mind that both Devuan and Linux are registered trademarks):
https://devuan.org/ui/img/devuan-logo_tm_600dpi.png
https://devuan.org/ui/img/devuan-emblem_600dpi.png

2. For visual recognition, it would be best if the color palette reflects the Purpy theme of devuan.org and dev1galaxy.org.

3. The source for devuan.org is here (but major revisions are imminent):
https://git.devuan.org/devuan-editors/d … devuan.org

4. The source for the dev1galaxy forum which uses FluxBB is available here (including custom mods):
https://git.devuan.org/d1g-voyager/dev1galaxy-forum

5. FluxBB offers language packs but they are incomplete.  We need your help if this forum is to provide multi-lingual support and to allow local communities to use this template in their native language(s).  Details are posted here

6. Don't like FluxBB?  Use whatever software suits your needs.

7. Domain names could reflect locales like this: devuan-fr.org or dev1galaxy-es.org or dev1galaxy-mx etc. Or branch out to something unique.  The same naming format could be applied to localized irc channels or email lists.

8. Note that Devuan does not have infrastructure resources to support these projects but  individuals will be available to assist in the process as schedules allow.

Re: Building Devuan communities

I am happy to know that the Devuan encourages local communities.

The questions are good explanations.

Re: Building Devuan communities

I had some free time so I decided to create a simple website layout for Polish Devuan community (which is non-existing yet, unfortunately). Maybe somebody will be interested to see it. I used colours from the official website.

It's a working website, not just an image (still offline, HTML+CSS, nothing fancy)

Re: Building Devuan communities

You did a great job of creating something unique but still recognizable as being Devuan-related!   (golinux does a happy dance)    If you let us know when it goes 'live', we will link to it from this forum and that should help grow your community.
